Who you thought won the first Whitaker/Rivera fight?

Actually i admire his slick moves and artistry but can only watch in doses. 12 rounds of his shenanagins tends to get kind of boring. Ill be honest i never liked him, and this goes back to when he first turned Pro.

Although i rate him very highly on my atg list even higher than many of you nuthuggers.

 

I didn't know Steve Farhood, Larry Merchant, Al Bernstein, Ron Borges, Mike Katz and the teams at ESPN, CNN and ABC were all 'brothas' or Whitaker ass lickers. Cheers for the heads up anarci :good

I have all every single one of those magazines read them all and i still say it wasnt controversial. I dont let the Ring and Ko magazines make up my mind for me. Delahoya 115-112

Know thats a Whittaker fight i dont mind watching again and posting the scorecards for. Cause ive seen a million times and ive tried to see in a Whittaker fans point of view and i still cant see him winning

 

But a second ago you were justifying the fight not being controversial becuase 'only brothas' and Whitaker ass lickers thought Whitaker won the fight. Now you're basically telling us the fight wasn't controversial because you yourself score it clearly for Oscar every time.

You've now adopted a 'subjective' interpretation of controversy, because as the above magazines show there was controversy about the fight in an objective sense, that is, by the normal understanding of controversy - when different people disagree about something.

 

And just to add to the non-controversial nature of the fight, I don't think I've ever seen Oscar ahead in a poll on who won the DLH-Whitaker fight on this site, and some polls have had over 100 replies. I'm pretty sure there are more non-brothas than brothas on this site as well. Could all be Whitaker ass lickers tho :good

 

Most of the people i know dont think it was controversy, and some of them dont even like Oscar. You feel so differently about it why dont you post a thread regarding the fight and ill post my scorecard along with others.

Although there is alot of Sweet pea nuthuggery that goes on here and OScar haters. So that might not be a good indication of how the fight really went. Ive sat down with one of the only friends i know that though Whittaker won (who was Black) and watched this fight and after discussing our cards after each round and adding them up his came out for Oscar by 1 point. All he could do was stutter and make excuses that Whittaker still won the fight:-(

 

That or Oscar haters who let biasness get in the way of what really is going on.

Ill admit he made Oscar look bad at times but he didnt do enough. Anyways unlike the Rivera/Whittaker id rather watchthis and post my card than talk about it. As ive explained a numerous times before why i think Oscar won. Wish i could see this fight in person with some of you guys. So i can see you stuttering and making excuses(like my friend) about how Whittaker won the fight.

When it comes to scoring fights i dont feel like i show bias. I think Quartey gave ODLH a closer fight than Whittaker did, in fact I had Quartey a point ahead going into the last round but since Oscar got a 2 poin round i thought he pulled it out by a point.
Sounds like you dont agree with me on ODLH and Whittaker,but what other fights do you feel i scored wrong for my fighter:huh

Theres another thread on the forum about "when your fighter got a shady win" or something like that, you will see that ill admit when my guys got help from the judges.

 

Dont worry about it, neither could Whitaker's own corner and in particular the loudmouth Lou Duva was urging Whitaker throughout that he was'nt doing enough and had to step it up.

 

You always love throwing this one out there.

Firstly, who gives a crap what Duva was saying, perhaps he was simply urging Pernell to do more by making him think he was behind - hardly a revolutionary move.

Secondly, I remember Lou telling him he was one round down after the 8th round. Pernell then had a 2 point round in the 9th, and clearly took the 11th, - I had him taking the tenth as well. So even by Duva's standards, assuming that he was being genuine, he must have had Whitaker AT LEAST drawing the fight.

Now, back onto the Rivera fight, anyone want to put up a scorecard to breakdown how they justify this robbery? Might put up the rounds on youtube that are contentious where someone disagrees with my card. Should be interesting :good

controversial - marked by or capable of arousing controversy

controversy - dispute, argument, or debate, esp one concerning a matter about which there is strong disagreement and esp one carried on in public or in the press
