Povetkin, bar none. This is the year Wlad can make history, by fighting the best/most promising contenders in the division, like Pulev, Fury/Price and of course Povetkin. Or he can keep on fighting bums.
:nut Wlad has had 7-8 fights now in soccer stadiums... some with roofs and some with out remember the RAIN at the haye fight?
Dan Rafael says it is definitely not Odlanier Solis but it might be Bryant Jennings. I hope not, he's not ready. I'd sooner see Wlad fight somebody in The Ring top ten: Fury, Adamek (which would be a huge event in Poland) or Boytsov. Of course, Povetkin would be ideal, and Pulev or Helenius would be as good or better. But those three are promoted by Sauerland, who have a contract with ARD which will conflict with the Klitschkos' contract with RTL.
If Wlad can't get Povetkin then I'd be cool with Marco Huck. He put a beating on Povetkin and won the fight on many people's cards, and he has that equalizer which Povetkin doesn't have in his hugely powerful right hand. Yes it's a mismatch, but it would be a fun one. Solis and Boytsov are totally untested and lazy slobs who don't deserve a fight of this magnitude till they earn it. Pulev, Fury and co need a bit more seasoning before stepping into the limelight. End of the year is fine, but not right now.
