Maybe all the holding Fury did made a difference for the judges in some of the rounds, since not much happened in terms of clean punching. Haven't seen that much holding in a good while. The ref should have been more forceful toward Fury concerning that. If he faces Usyk, I think Usyk's people should make a note of the holding and mauling he's done in his last three fights before the fight to influence the ref to be more strict.
I think it was probably after the 4th round where I was just waiting for the knock out punch to land. Whyte was always going to get sparked.
The referee was very good the other night. He warned Fury about a bit of holding. He warned Whyte about a lot of fouling. No points deducted but strong warnings.
1st round was clear one for Whyte. I gave the others to Fury, but not much separate them. Fury didn't really land much.
Fury didn't stop his holding, though, if memory serves. And don't know if warning the one that responds as much as the one who initiates is the best way to do it.
How many holds did Fury initiate? I will watch again. I did not see much as you see maybe. Whyte always fouls on inside with headbutts and elbow and try to twist arm. That's how he win with Parker after all. I think Fury holds about average for tall fighter. I bet Whyte wish Fury had held more and uppercut less.
