    Oh ****! :scaredas:

so he'd be out of 2.3 Million or so just to try to play a "joke"? Yeah, that'd keep the bull **** to a minimum

When King did this, and later backed out, he lost 10% of the bid and had to pay 150000$ penalty. I doubt Hryunov will back out, loosing 2.3 million of Russian Mafia money will get you killed faster that privacy rights bill in US congress meeting.

Yes, I think he'd be out the 10%....I assume they wouldn't refund it.

I was watching a video of the purse bid, and the sound wasn't that great, but I'm pretty sure that he gave them a cashiers check for $2.3 million right there on the spot. That's what it looked like to me.

Wladimir should knock Povetkin out but I would ask where the money comes from.

I would not take any money from the Russian Mafia.

And they had to pay the money before!!!!!!!!!!! the fight.

I guess this fight could be HUGE in Russia... We often under-estimate just how big an economy it is!

Well lets' see: Some shady Euro businessguy, connected to the Russian Mob, promises you 17 mil.

The fight happens, and then he doesn't pay you squat.

What exactly are you gonna' do then? Sue him?

In Nevada the 'declared purses' need to be paid the night of the fight. Look for this fight to go to Russia. :yep

Bönte has been on the record saying the fight won't happen unless Wlad's purse is safe and sound in an escrow account BEFORE the fight.

If I were a fighter I'd make that a condition for EVERY fight of mine.

I use Escrow all the time for business transactions, to guarantee I get paid, and the dollar amounts are not anywhere near millions of dollars. It's just common sense.

I agree, I just read that the guy working with Hrunov was also working with Don King for the Huck bid that fell apart. So there may be good reason to be skeptical.
