    Kenny Bayless for sure.

Clearly the best ref out there IMO.

Did you not see Hopkins v Calzaghe :?

How Cortez referees a fight entirely depends on his pre-conceived opinions of the fighters involved. Which is why he should not be allowed near a boxing ring, especially after the travety he created of the Soto/Lorenzo fight.

Smoger or Bayless. Bayless has pissed me off a lot, but he did an outstanding job with Cotto/Margarito.

Hopkins is a tough, old bird. If Pavlik wins by KO it will be a TKO when someone ref, corner, doctor decides they cannot in good conscience let Hopkins continue to fight. I've never seen Pavlik win by a pure KO. ( 10 count )

Zuniga - quit out of his corner

McKart - Got up but the ref didn't let him continue

Pierre - Was beaten so badly the ref didn't bother to count

Zertuche - The ref knocked him down as he was stopping the fight.

Miranda - I'm not sure if Miranda actually hit the canvas before Smoger called it, but he was definitely on the way down.

Taylor - Watching the replay I really am beginning to think that Smoger was in the process of stopping the fight before Taylor hit the canvas. Pavlik was unloading left hooks to Taylor's head while he was leaning against the ropes and Taylor wasn't defending himself.

Lockett - Enzo threw in the towel to save his fighter from any further embarrassment. I suspect the ref was going to let it continue.

The way Pavlik pummled Miranda, and destroyed Taylor, and the way Lockett's face changed before our very eyes after each punch, Pavlik is such a huge puncher, the refs have to be concerned for the safety of Pavlik's opponents. Hopkins fate will all come down to how Pavlik uses his jab keeping Hopkins at the end of it, and setting up the huge right. I hope to see Smoger ref this fight. Smoger gives Hopkins a chance to win, and Smoger fights usually end in a knockout.
