Looks like you were right...From the place that talks about news regarding fighting... Heavyweight stars David Haye and Shannon Briggs showed their form and thrilled local boxing fans at a public workout on Monday at Manchesters Jubilee Place in advance of their respective fights on Saturdays card at the Manchester Arena. Haye is facing Arnold Gjerjaj, who also worked out. Briggs announced opponent Alexander Dimitrenko wasnt in attendance, and is rumored to not be fighting at all. No mention of Dimitrenko was made during Briggs public interview. If both Haye and Briggs are victorious, they are expected to clash in September. Stay tuned.
Yeah its been known for a couple of weeks that Dimitrenko isn't fighting. Not sure why ayone stll thinks he is
Well Dimtrenko tweeted weeks ago that he wasn't fighting. Besides why would you pay DIMITRENKO to use his name? I don't think Londoners would be flooding in to watch him fight somehow
Still a better name than Gjarbage. Might have tempted a few punters who are now seeing Briggs vs some Euro punch bag.
Regardless of who Briggs fights, so long as he is victorious, he will maintain his WBA ranking, and his name WON'T CHANGE. Haye needs a name, Briggs needs a payday. Nothing new here. Haye TKO 5 Briggs and get's mandatory fight for WBA interim or an eliminator vs someone like Washington by the WBC:think Either way.....Haye is a big name, a MONEY FIGHTER, who will sell in a world title fight, a British title fight, or a European title fight. We've always wanted to see Haye vs Potvetkin, Chagaev, Adamek etc....well....expect one or more of those fights in 2017.
Gjerjag would stop Dimitrenko inside 3 rds. Dimitrenko has good heart and nice jab and does well fighting at pace, but when he's hit, he goes toe to toe, and he would not win vs Gjergjaj. :huh
