I think the fans are just tired of hearing about Ward when he has been so inactive. And he is boring as hell also. People want to see action packed fights, where guys are exchanging with ferocity. It doesn't have to be a street brawl but people can't stand the hitting and holding, something Ward does a lot of.

 

People need to understand Andre Ward is from NORTHERN California. The fight was in SOUTHERN California. Northern California and Southern California have a rivalry throughout all sports:

TWO EXAMPLES:

NHL: San Jose Sharks vs LA Kings
MLB: San Francisco Giants vs LA Dodgers

Also any major entertainer from either place will be booed in the other location; FFS Metallica is one of the biggest metal bands of all times, and they're from Northern California and when they do appearances in SoCal, they get booed (even by their fans)....that is how Californians act...!!!

 

I was raised in northern CA and attended college at the University of San Diego, and I have never felt there was any kind of rivalry between north and south. That isn't why they were booing Ward.

 

Ever go to a Dodgers games against the Giants...??? Or a Sharks vs Kings hockey game (or Sharks vs Ducks)...???

Or remember the old 49ers vs the (then) LA Raiders rivalries...???



Maybe its just a SoCal thing, but I doubt it...even though I hate the Sharks, A's, Giants, 49ers, etc.
