Louis was 69-3 and had 25 title defenses. Wlad needs 20 more wins to tie his record (and beat him on successful (26 straight title defenses). Will Wlad under Stewart be the next man to beat him? If not who will it be? It will make Wlad's record more impressive since he was a titlist three times (if you count the WBO).

I doubt anybody breaks Louis's record at heavyweight. Wladimir wont because in order to do so, he would have to be undefeated for another 10-12 years.

17 more defenses he can have 26 successful broken up defenses of the title. Can he accomplish that?

He wont fight that long. And if he did want to attempt to break the record, as he got older, his reflexes, speed, and stamina would decrease and somebody would get to him sooner or later. I think Wladimir will fight for 3 more years and have 6-7 more title defenses.

I don't think this topic is worthy of discussion unless a heavyweight champion under 30 manages ten consecutive title defenses. When that happens, we can talk.

He isn't VERY young, he's already 28 and will be 29 when he'll get a title shot.
With 3 defenses a year he would have to be unbeaten till the age of 38. Very unlikely.

(I don't think he'll beat Wlad to begin with.)

David Haye will always be in danger of being knocked out by a good puncher. I don't think he can make more than 5 title defenses.

If Denis Boytsov lives up to his promise he would be young enough to break Louis's record.
