3/4 people on ESB think Ward is going to spank Dawson. But whom are you backing, emotionally?

Love both of them, but I'm pulling more for the underdog - Bad Chad. That said, I expect Ward to win and wont be the slightest bit upset about it. These guys are genuinely very solid talents and technicians in an otherwise sub-par era, save for a select few.

Yeah, I'm supporting the underdog, who is fighting in the other guy's home town, who got screwed contractually both by the weight and the purse, and who is going to get robbed by the judges too, if it's close...

Im afraid that Chad will have to win about 8+ rounds convincingly to get the decision in Oakland :-(

Very daunting task with his consistency issues/mental lapses and Ward's technical acumen/adaptability.

I think he needs to win at least 9 rounds to win. If Dawson wins 8, it's going to be called a draw, or a split decision win for Ward, I think. Dawson isn't good enough to win 9 rounds against Ward. I don't think anyone is. Dawson needs to stop Ward to win, but I very much doubt he can stop Ward. If I were a betting man, I'd consider putting 20 quid on Ward.

  7. Ward, but ****.

i just want to enjoy this fight!

    may the best man win.

For the best man to win, this would have to be a fair fight. It ain't.

The weight should be 170lbs and it should be done in Las Vegas for the fight to be fair.

Yeah, man, that comment was way out of order. I'm surprised that the usual people who overreact to racist or perceived-racist comments haven't said anything in this case, when it would have been warranted.

Yep, I too am supporting the guy taking on the far greater amount of risk in this one. And you guys are absolutely right about the scorecards; Ward hasn't needed a gift decision yet but the scores for the Bika fight were appalling.

Bad Chad! I want to see the Son of Sven beaten so he's forced to fight outside of Oakland

You have to respect the 175 champ moving down to be the underdog and fight in his opponent's back yard. When has Wardke done that?

  13. it came from another black guy. therefor it is not considered a racist comment. just an insult that is pretty much testing Chad's manhood.

Hunter was basicly telling chad to speak up for yourself instead of letting your promoter do all the talking for you. the "mandingo slave" reference was made to get a rise out of Dawson and Shaw. it didn't work.

you guys look into those comments way too much.

They accept it because it is perceived to ok to make racially insensative comments if they are viewed as people of the same ethnicity...which they are not. (It's a insult to Ward to call him black and neglect the fact his father was white, and had a great influence on him).Ward is Mixed.

Chad like my self is black, so when Virgil started his mind games...I was like really? A fight of this magnetitude does not need comments like that...

I am not one of those who looks into comments too much, particularly comments perceived to be racist. But facts is, Ward isn't "black". At least not black like Dawson. Ward is half-white too. Dawson isn't half-white. This is why the comment from the Ward camp was way out of order.
