I am not black and I don't give a **** about race or ethnicity, and I have never supported Dawson before, and I am not going to support him because of these racist comments either, but for reasons to do with contractual fairness, underdog status, etc.

...but yeah, it was far from classy of the Ward camp to say **** like that. I can't imagine the Bute camp, for example, ever saying anything like that, not in a million years.

It's hard to tout against either one if these guys. They are both great guys in and out of the ring. My loyalty lies with Ward, but I will be happy for Dawdon if he pulls the upset. I won't be around ESB much because the Joe Cal nuthuggers will be unbearable is Dawson wins Failey gets sopping wet just thinking about it.

Andre Ward's real name is Sven Warddke and he is german.i suspect he is using shoe polish to hide his true origin

My sentiment as well. I do like Ward but I have to give Dawson credit for beating my boy Hopkins fair and square. Can't wait for this fight I'm just hoping for reasonable scorecards.

When did I suggest it was Ward saying that?

Yeah, it was Ward's father-figure. His god-father. The man who brought him up and who taught him how to be a man, etc.

Makes it even worse that they are so close. It wasn't just a rogue trainer who came in for a one-off fight, like Roger or Senior, say. It was the man that is the foundation that team Ward is based on that said that.

Virgil's race is irrelevant here. A racist comment is a racist comment. Would have been more scandalous if Virgil had been white, but not more wrong.

I would've preferred these conditions as well but there's no point lamenting now. Dawson accepted the conditions so it's his responsibility.

Dawson will show everyone how much MORE athletically gifted he is than Andre Ward...many will be shocked...in fact I believe Chad may be the better technician overall if he can produce some type of inside game tonight....

Ward has the edge in adaptability, IQ, probably foot speed, inside game, aggression, head movement....everything else is questionable...

Ward also has...location, his preferred wieght (even if Chad has made it), possibly officials some might say?

That **** is old and stupid. Are you old and stupid 'young slickness'?

Abide by it and what it stands for or discard it and live like the man you want to be. You can't have it both ways.

I know you are new to ESB, but, really, you should know I am not.

(And I'm not pretending I'm in with all the latest American racial etiquette, but there's no one that could convince me that Virgil's comments were nothing more than, at worst, a bit tasteless. What he said was wrong.)
