I like em both. Calzaghe wins hands down as a boxer, as the fight between em showed, but Kessler seems like a really nice bloke. However, being a nice guy counts for **** in the ring. Otherwise Frank Bruno would have knocked out Mike Tyson with a first round jab.

You really are as sensitive as a 13-year-old girl's clitoris if my opinion offends you to this degree.

Is Larry Holmes repulsive for fighting Ali?
    - IF HE HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT ALI WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES

Kostya and DLH for fighting JCC?
    - IF THEY HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT JCC WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES
(I don't think JCC was shot at the time of the 1st DLH fight anyway. He was past prime but not shot like Calzaghe and I believe RJJ is.)

    tyson for fighting larry?
    - IF HE HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT JCC WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES

pac for squeezing all he could out of MAB?
    - IF HE HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT MAB WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES
(but really NO, as Barrera wasn't shot in their 2nd fight. Did you see Barrera v Marquez? Barrera was well past prime but not shot like Calzaghe and I believe RJJ is)

rocky marciano for picking on joe louis?
    - IF HE HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT JOE WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES

ali for sadistically ****ing up an aging cleveland williams?
    - IF HE HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT CLEVE WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES

wlad for luring a half blind lamon brewster into a rematch?
    - IF HE HAD ALREADY SAID PUBLICLY THAT LAMON WAS SHOT FOUR YEARS PREVIOUS TO FIGHTING HIM THEN YES

p300 "No Ordinary Joe: The Autobiography of Joe Calzaghe" by Joe Calzaghe and Brian Doogan in 2007 -

"I have no interest any more in Roy Jones and no interest in Antonio Tarver. Jones is washed up and Tarver was never that good anyway, he just caught Jones when Jones was shot and Johnson did the same."

Antonio Tarver TKO2 Roy Jones Jr, 15/05/2004
Glen Johnson KO9 Roy Jones Jr, 25/09/2004

Joe Calzaghe v Roy Jones Jr, 18/11/2008

If you, in addition to being as sensitive as a clitoris, are also as blind as one, then you will think there is nothing wrong with your hero being a mercenary and a liar. Fair enough. Enjoy the "fight".

i have already said in the lead up to this fight that joe has made himself look a hypocritical fool with his past comments and then his decision to take the fight with roy but boxing is a shady business filled with many a murky character. in the grand scheme of things joe would be pretty low down the list of repulsive people involved in the sport.

And so does any of this invalidate my opinion that beating up a fighter you yourself describe as being 'shot' four years ago for money is a repulsive thing to do? No. Bye dick :hi:

it would be if roy was in some last chance saloon, desperate for money situation. seen as he was just as keen on the fight if not more so than joe, going to the hopkins fight to sound him out then no. calzaghe isn't taking advantage of the man, they both want the fight and so be it. it's a **** fight and joe is a hypocrite for it. repulsive? nah, way over the top.

    YOU PERVERT!

    Well said :good

And i have to go with Kessler (although his next opponent is Danilo Haussler :verysad ) just cause i don't like Calzaghe.

As person Kessler by a mile.
Calzaghe is a classy boxer, but not as person. To much bull**** running out of his mouth.

How many people said Braddock was shot before he fought Baer?

Yeah he looked shot 4 years ago and Joe was correct to say it then, but he hasnt been KO'ed since then and hasnt lost for 3 years. If Roy thinks he can win this who are we to tell him he cant have a stab what would be perhaps the most remarkable win of his career?

Not a fan of either. Prefer to watch Calzaghe fight as he is the superior of the two.

Many years later he said that he knew Ali was shot to pieces...he said this in the book 'Facing Ali'....

Was Larry repulsive for facing him? No. Some of the public still wanted to believe Ali was the man as he hadn't yet lost the title in the ring having won it back from Spinks and there was also the pay day...

JC, whilst hypocritical, is not repulsive either. I think alot of you haters forget the man is 36 years old and as much as you would like to believe otherwise, has beaten two young champions he was accused of fleeing in 2004 when he proposed moving to 175 and a supposed legend, the man regarded by most as being the best at 175 especially in light of Dawsons recent performance against Johnson.

Put it in ****ing perspective for once.

This makes no sense whatsoever. He "looked" shot when he was 34-35 years old getting knocked cold by world class fighters. Now that he's 39 and has been fighting lhw's ranked outside the top 10 and a blown-up fat welterweight who was rustier than the Titanic, he might have reversed the ageing process and now not be shot anymore?
