I said I would like to see it,not that it would be made. There ain't many old shot guys left to fight,Gonzalez type guys,George or Henry make sense
It's too soon for Cloud... It makes no sense to rush him into a fight with Dawson. The can be a mega fight in a year or so. Right now it's a waste I would like the see Cloud do a few more things first and tighten up his game then do the big show down.
This poll ignores what I believe is somewhat likely: Dawson vs. Taylor. Assuming Taylor gets by Lacy -- and unless he blows off training completely, he should -- that would be a big fight in the United States. Also, from Dawson's perspective, the bout likely would have to be broadcast by HBO. Which is good. Does the HBO audience really care about Taylor vs. Froch? No one knows who the **** Froch is. And Dawson easily can make 170, so weight won't be an issue. I'd love to see him fight Calzaghe, but it'll never happen. Johnson and Diaconu are not options at this point, and Pavlik is too big for him. The Cloud fight isn't ready. I'd like to see Cloud fight a solid B-class opponent, then perhaps challenge Andre Ward on a B.A.D. in late 2009 (as Ward is hurt right now). The winner then would be in line for a title shot of some sort. Of course, disposing of Erdei would do us all a favor, but I'll believe Erdei wants that fight when he throws his first punch.
I'll throw out a name not on the poll...Bernard Hopkins. Assuming Hopkins can't secure a fight with RJJ and that he isn't disposed of in a KTFO fashion by Kelly Pavlik, this is the perfect fight for him. It's against a young up and coming fighter, it's as the underdog, against someone who could give him all sorts of styles problems with his speed and workrate and it's for a title. Pretty much everything Bernard Hopkins loves in a fight. Dawson would face easily his toughest opponent ever and set himself up for bigger fights with more money on the line against other names out there (RJJ? Calzaghe? Pavlik maybe?) So put me down for Dawson-Hopkins in the late winter/early spring schedule.
im leaning towards the johnson rematch. i unfortunately missed the first fight but there was a lot of chatter on here that the decision easily could of gone the other way.

i'd like to see him fight diaconu first. get his old belt back. the ibf will probably want there mandatory fought though. johnson rematch perhaps. even though i thought dawson won first time round.
Dawson discarded his old belt saying he was only interested in money and fighting big names, not in belts. I am not sure why you are suggesting it would be wrong for the IBF to insist on enforcing its rules concerning mandatories either. Didn't Dawson himself become a beltholder by fighting a mandatory? Would he have managed to get Johnson to fight him if he had not beaten Adamek and won a title? How about Tarver, would he have got to fight Tarver if he had been just another prospect? Or is he God's gift to boxing? Perhaps there should be a "Dawson World Champion" belt created just for him, which he could defend against whomever he felt like it, whenever he felt like it. Why would it mean so much to you that he got his old belt back if he wasn't and wouldn't be willing to go by the rules that make holding that belt or any belt at all mean anything in the first place? Dawson is lucky he can pick and choose whilst still getting big fights, despite not being an altogether proven top level fighter. He doesn't need the belts. So why should he hold belts he doesn't and won't defend captive if that will prevent good prospects and contenders who need a shot at a belt or who need to hold on to a belt to make a living and get big fights from doing so? It doesn't make sense, unless you are not a fan of boxing and just a fan of Dawson.
Diaconu. This fight shouldve happened by now. I doubt that it ever will happen but am hopeful...It presents a perfect mesh of styles and would no doubt be exciting as both Adi and Dawson are exciting in their own right... Calzaghe will not fight Dawson....do we really need to think about this one?? Joe ducked Johnson twice so its difficult to have a serious discussion about a potential fight between Joe and Chad
