    Wow! So many great fights out there for Bika...he really cannot go wrong! There's no one at 168 lbs for whom more great fights can be made...:happy

    Say what you will about him, but he's never had a bad fight in his life; he leaves it ALL in the ring, and always comes to knock the other guy OUT, taking huge risks in the process! The better the fight, the better he performs too - compare his best two performances (v. Bute and v. Calzaghe) with his poor performance against Codrington, for example...:deal

    I may look bizarre to quote myself but...

    I just looked the IBF ratings, posted the 13th ov November.

    1. Librado Andrade
    2. Vitaly Tsypko
    3. Robert Stieglitz
    4. Sakio Bika

    So, they let Andrade at the number one spot, but probably will ask him to fight an eliminatory. Golden boy probably negociated that in exchange of not protesting furthermore. An eliminator against whom? Stieglitz? Andrade already beat him. Tsypko? He doesn't deserve it. Or Bika? He should move up at least at number three spot. So Bika-Andrade for the mandatory spot against Bute seems to be logical.

    I think we shold not judge too severely his performance against Codrington. The Contender is not real boxing. It's a tv show. Not a very long time to prepare for the fight, etc.

    I suggested a Bika - Miranda fight a while back and his good showing today only reaffirms it. The fight would be an absolute c-r-a-c-k-e-r.

    Thanks for posting those, laffie! I'm afraid it's going to be against Tsypko, most likely. The IBF want everyone to have a go; they already let Bika compete in the IBF eliminator against Bute. "He's had his chance." Andrade's had his chance too, but he's with Golden Boy and he deserved a rematch anyway too. Bika has NO ONE to lobby for him; he doesn't even have a promoter or manager!:-( :verysad :-( :verysad :-( Tsypko has been close to the No.1 position for ages, so...he probably expects to get a shot...

    Look for Andrade v. Tsypko in the eliminator. Of course, there's nothing to stop Andrade taking on Bika voluntarily...it would be a GREAT undercard fight and Andrade's wanted to fight Bika before...could happen. In fact, it could happen even before the eliminator fight against Tsypko. The winner would face Tsypko in the eliminator, of course...

    It sure would! Miranda is still a name in the USA...and Bika might not be able to get a better quality opponent for more money anyway...would be a great undercard fight on HBO PPV or regular HBO.:good

    Andrade, Miranda, Taylor/Lacy, Kessler, Bute or Inkin would be all good fights. However, I want the winner of Taylor/Lacy to fight Kessler, so I'd like to see Bika fight someone else before facing the winner of Taylor/Lacy vs. Kessler.

    Bika/Andrade and Bika/Miranda would be high-profile and entertaining fights that would build Bika up into a contender. Bika/Bute and Bika/Inkin are more die-hard boxing fan fights; both would be good for Bika's legacy but would not be the path to being a major figure on the world (read: US) boxing scene.

    :verysad Tsypko. That would be a bad move from the IBF. He does not deserve the number 2 spot. Hasn't he refused an eliminatory before?

    I agree...I'd say though that Bika's viewed as a contender already, though. He's been in two title fights (one of which ended in a NC and one which he's lost to Calzaghe, in a hard, close fight) and in a title eliminator against Bute (in which he won 5 rounds or so)...if Bika's not a contender, I don't know who is...

    Bring on Bika/Miranda and Bika/Andrade, for sure!:good

    Not as far as I know; Tsypko is a good fighter, laffie! He's just not that well known/proven. He deserves an eliminator shot!:good

    He also has a good/influential promoter - Sauerland, who will lobby for him.;)

    Put another way: a major contender. If Bute was to beat Miranda or Andrade, belt-holders would either have to start fighting him or being accused of ducking him.

    Bika/Andrade would be fascinating, considering how strong and durable they both are; it could be what SSS/McCall was SUPPOSED to be like. I would favour Bika very heavily to beat Miranda, but it would be good for Bika.

    Ah, I get it...it's just that some people only view Bika as a gatekeeper for the Top 10...he's clearly more than that, imo.

    I agree. Even if Manfredo isn't that good, it was nice to see Bika get attention for a dominant win rather than an impressive losing performance. I used to dislike him because of his diabolically dirty performance against Calzaghe, but he's become one of my favourite boxers over the past few years.

    Well, in that case, why not a Bute-Tsypko fight in January? That way, the contractual obligation Interbox has with Sauerland will be over, that would be I think an easy defense for Bute, would show him in Europe. I mean, Sauerland doesn't need the mandatory to have a championship fight, he already has a contact clause forcing Bute to fight one ot his fighters. I know Sauerland likes money, so he would prefer to organize a Bute-Larsen fight, and then hope Tsypko win against Andrade to have another shot at the title. But Tsypko won't pass Andrade. He lost to Lacy, and that's not good. His record is a Sauerland record. He's not proven yet.
