I Met Bernard & Bouie Fisher a few years ago spent a lot of time chatting to them. Both were down to earth guys more like Father & son. Thats why I could never understand what happened between them

    I'll give current not historical:

    The Charlos, Shakur, Tank,

I would also say Prograis as well, but Prograis actually has a decent amount of support (until his last fight).

Guillermo Rigondeaux for me. I know he's put on some pretty bad/negative performances. But at his best, ie his Donaire fight, and his early Olympics amateur days, he was sublime. One of the smoothest operators in boxing.

In your estimation, is Margarito better known for whooping Cotto or loading his gloves?

I don’t care about the gloves issue considering he wasn’t banned for life like Resto. All that tells me is that the CA commission screwed up. If they had real evidence, he’d have been tossed forever. Now let’s look at what actually happened in the fight.
Cotto came out high energy, bouncing all over the place, using a lot of legs. He also kept his head over his front foot so much there was no way Margarito could miss with the uppercuts. Now, you factor in that Margaritos chin allowed him to take those shots like bbs giving him the opportunity to continually walk Cotto down. Then we get to the point where Cotto took more punches in this fight than any other previous matchup. He got hit over and over and over again. He had never faced an opponent who had the combo of size, length, reach, chin and stamina. Then we are in the other aspect of Margaritos game that Cotto wasn’t used to, the volume punching. Naturally Cotto looked good early. He was quick on his feet, throwing fast combos, making pretty connections. He burned a lot of energy in those first six rounds. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t taking punishment. Think Chavez Taylor. Margarito grinded Cotto down. I knew from the moment the fight was signed Margarito would win. What also tells me there was no “plaster” was the fact that Cottos face was marked up even worse in the rematch. And that fight was playing out in a similar manner the difference being Cottos gameplan was entirely different. People liked to say there was a crack in Margaritos gloves. It was string. People get overly emotional about this fight because for starters, they never liked Margarito to begin with going back to when he punked Floyd. They have always wanted Margarito to lose and just be a crappy fighter. They couldn’t stand that a slow handed Mexican was putting paws on every guy he faced win or lose. After the fight they had to give him his respect even after they all picked Cotto to win because he “has a higher ring iq and is faster on his feet and with his hands”. He’s known more for the gloves by people who are emotionally invested. Rather than actually take a step back and look at the facts it’s easier to claim he cheated because he won every time they said he couldn’t.

Great post my friend Tells it like it is Every unbiased boxing fan knows full well there never was any plaster or any intent to cheat. The CSAC acted like idiots jumping in on Richardsons blatant lies about PLASTER BLOCKS When those pads were tested they were proved to be HARMLESS that's the reason the CSAC couldn't indict Tony. Instead of manning up & admitting they were wrong about plaster & seeing theyre the State Commission who rule the sport in Ca, they still refused to return Margaritos license to box in Ca because they SUSPECTED he MIGHT have tried to cheat . I thought the U S law says " A suspect is deemed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"?? The only guilty parties here were Richardsom, The CSAC & the proven juicer Mosely who was obviously juiced to the gills for that fight.
Antonio legally kicked Cottos ass TWICE,!!!! & he would have done the same to cowardly Mayweather as they all knew. The Floyd/Canelo fan girls are the only ones still harping on about Plaster . It shows they've gone nothing else in defence of Mayweathers cowardice

Or is Margarito more respected for being the MAN that made Mayweather literally **** himself in fear when he stood before him to ask " Why wont you fight me Floyd "? ROFLMAO That was what started all the Plaster BS

Nobody will ever refute what I just posted because those are the actual facts of the what happened in the fight. They have no defense to why he got hit more than any other fight. They have no defense as to why Cottos face was worse in the second fight. We all saw the same thing. All they have is their emotional hatred of the guy which began long before those 2 ever fought.
