Yea I totally agree with that. Pac's gonna lose his spot on top either way I see, because Mayweather-Mosley kills Pac-Clottey. Right now I believe Mosley is the top welterweight and come May he'll prove he's the top P4P.

Unless Pac loses, Pac stays at number 1. That's the way it works. Debate over.

If Pac wins he stays number one despite of what happens in the Mosley-Fraud fight.

The winner of Mayweather & Mosely without doubt because Mosely is seen as the man at WW & all 3 men are currently WWs + Manny loses severe points for walking away from the fight to actually determine boxings p4p best vs a man that Mosely signed to fight in a heartbeat.

It was Pacquiao`s willingness to fight tough opponents that gained him the title (well that & Floyd`s retirement) in the 1st place, more so than anyone believing he was the most talented in the sport, that was always Mayweather, now its Mayweather who is facing the tougher challenge & Pacman is facing a man that should not be able to beat him stylewise or talentwise.... its an easy decision.

If Pacquiao wants his p4p title back, he MUST face & beat the winner of FMJ-SSM.

    Thats all !

interesting question and I'm surprised i've not seen anyone post it before. I'm not entirely sure to be honest, but I think Pacquiao would stand a good shot at retaining the spot should he (T)KO Clottey. That said, should there be a ko in may/mosley, It'd be difficult to not proclaim the victor as no.1 as well.

Personally, I do hope Pacquiao gets knocked off the the top spot. I think he was the slightly more awkward party in the mayweather negotiations and losing his no.1 spot might well cause him to give up ground at the negotiations should they come to it again. If Mosley beats May however, it'll be interesting to see if he makes any demands against Pac. It's possible this "random drug testing" could take off, and Mosley just might be the next ambassador of it.

Its gonna be hard to beat him if he continues to fight men that are slow as plastered ****, in other words men that suit him stylewise, he had the chance to prove his greatness on an ATG level vs FMJ, a style that doesnt compliment his own style too well but he backed out.... end of.

You cant have a double standard, people held that against Mayweather at times, now Pac has walked away from his toughest challenge & you still want to let him sit on his throne unchallenged ?.... bull****... the Floyd-Shane winner will be both the best WW & best p4p fighter & Pacman will have to man up & challenge that winner, whoever it may be... & at 147 as well, not fkn 143 or any **** like that.

If Mosley beats Mayweather - Mosley is number 1, regardless of the Pacquiao Clottey result.
If Mayweather beats Mosley, but Pacquiao beats Clottey, Pacquiao remains number 1, with Mayweather number 2.
If Mayweather beats Mosley, but Pacquiao loses, Mayweather is number 1 and Mosley quite possibly could be number 2.

    Clottey has no chance...sorry.

Mayweather is the BEST fighter in the sport, wake up, its Manny`s achievements that earned him the p4p tag, not him being most talented.

Why is Mosely no1 regardless of the Pacquiao result but Floyd is only no1 if Pacquiao loses ?

    Doesnt make sense.

Pacquiao may be regarded #1 P4P at the minute. But I see Mosley and Pacquiao as joint number 1 in the Welterweight division.
It's only Mayweather's 2nd bout back after retirement, his first bout being against a blown up Marquez.
If Mosley beats Mayweather, I see that as a bigger win than Pacquiao beating Clottey, making Mosley #1 P4P in my opinion.
But if Mayweather beats Mosley, and Pacquiao beats Clottey. Mayweather's win will still be bigger than if Pacquiao beats Clottey, but Pacquiao still holds the top spot for me as he would be regarded #1 at 147lbs.
