People can debate all they like in here, but no credible boxing journalists, websites, magazines are gonna knock Pac off his throne unless he looses.
**** Juiceman PBF is still #1 in my book, he never lost just retired. Also Mosley is a harder fight than Clottey. Not mention he would school Pac if they ever fought.:deal
He would be a solid #2. I just cant put Mosley above someone like Pac consideirng his recent form, Pac has been on an incredible 11 fights winning streak against top opposition. Mosley just 3 fights ago lost and was struggling badly against Mayorga. I picked Shane to beat Margo and I honestly think too much is being made of that win. Styles makes fights for a start and then theres the controversy on the wraps. Shane beating PBF is a great win but its 1 great win, 2 including Margo. Id put Margo without his wraps probably on the same level as Clottey, their fight was pretty even as it was.
So according to you if Lennox Lewis came back today he is still the undisputed HW champ of the world Clown. Pac was on his ass as it was whilst he was in the sport, as soon as he left Pac got the spot and as he was inactive Pac was busy, Pac widened the gap greatly.
I'm not even a fan, but Manny stays on top. Weight drain or no, EPO or no, his resume is damn impressive. So until he tests positive or loses, Pac is numero uno.
Lewis has been out of the sport for more than 5r years fool. Horrible comparison. PBF has never lost and was the #1 P4P fighter before his short reitirement. It;s obvious to anyone who knows boxing that PBF is the more skilled fighter and would be favored over Pac as well. That right there is reason enough.:deal
Mosley is not currently in consideration for the #1 P4P spot. The only way Mosley gets consideration is if he knocks out Floyd and Clottey KO's Pac. Pac average win and Mosley KO win over Floyd still keeps Pac at #1 with Mosley getting consideration for the number 2 spot. My opinion anyway.
Floyd never lost his P4P spot he vacated it...Manny only really got it because he beat fighters that Floyd already beat except Miguel...so in my view it goes to Floyd if he beats Shane because he wasn't out of the sport for a whole 2 years besides he dominated the #2 guy P4P and he wasn't even ranked it goes back to the rightful owner of the title Money May.
I disagree with your answer, but totally respect your reasoning. Best arguement against Shane being number that I heard. Most people just call him old.
Well, it's not really accurate to say 'that's not accurate' about what is an entirely personal subjective opinion. There's precdent for a fighter being moved down from the number one spot without losing or retiring. If we take the ring magazine rankings, for example, that has happened in the cases of Julio Caeser Chavez, Pernell Whittaker and Bernard Hopkins, for instance.
Horrible post man. It can be argued either way on who walked on the negotiation for Floyd vs. Pac. Regardless it is about who you have fought that should be taken into consideration when it comes to ranking. Floyd walked away from more fights than any top WW, so he probably shouldn't even be discussed for p4p by your logic. Pac's willingness to fight top fighters is only part of why he is p4p #1. How he performed during those bouts is of utmost importance. There are many aspect in talents, Floyd smoothness makes his boxing look impressive but that is only one aspect to boxing. Pac is rougher therefore gets hit more often but in turn he also does more damage to his opponent. Pac have plenty that Floyd doesn't possess as well, such as power, agressiveness, and being a great finisher, those are also a huge aspect in boxing. Floyd does everything by boxing textbook and that seems to get some people's appreciation more regarding skills, that is all. I will agree Floyd is the best defensive fighter in the WW division though. In truth, I don't really give a crap who is p4p #1. I just want all the top fighters within the division to have a chance to face each other to show us who is actually the best. If people always assume who is best then there is no point in actual fighting to happen, might as will based on their training, sparring, and simulations. If Roy Jones never fought Antonio Tarver, who would have guessed Tarver would win even if Jones wasn't in his prime?
People act like the Cotto win doesn't exsist, or doesn't mean ****!! COTTO BEAT MOSLEY!!! IT"S A FACT!! IT HAPPENED!! While Floyd was inactive, then fighting blown up light weights, Pac was beating top comp and out classing a really good welter in Cotto. How is beating another good welter on top of all that, in Clottey, trumped by Floyd beating Mosley, who had already lost to Cotto? Doesn't make sense...
