Who's a better all around fighter Joe Calzaghe or Chad Dawson?

No need for that, Dawson is no bum. He is well schooled and a very good fighter.

Calzaghe was something else though. He had everything but power, and i watched the guy since he was young so i don't fall for the bull**** he had power before he ****ed his hands. He hit hard, hard enough for people to respect him but thats it.

What Calzaghe stood out for is his ability to adapt to his opponents, he worked people out in a matter of minutes and made it work against them.

Floyd is the same, and i'm not comparing one to the other here as a fighter because Floyd is streets ahead, but **** speed, **** power, the ability to stand in front of your opponent and work them out within minutes when its going wrong is the mark of a true great fighter.

Only a select few have that.

 

have you seen calzaghe fight? he's a great fighter at making adjustments, but all around, he fought people made for him. 43 year old hopkins is the only fighter of his 45 opponents who wasn't a tomato can. don't get me wrong, he fought some very good tomato cans, but they were made for his style. look at his highlights, he doesn't pick shots and land great leads or flush counters, he just swarms his defenseless opponents with a barrage of punches because none of them knew how to step to the side and throw a counter hook when stepping to the left, or a straight right when stepping to the right.

chad's more skilled although calzaghe was faster.... Joe's mental game was top notch as well and that's something that can trump all the skill int he world, especially if you're close in skill range..... despite Dawson's skill advantage his lack of focus and Joe's intense focus and will/win at all cost approach would lead to a Slappy Joe decision. If Dawson had Joe's will to win and fighters heart he'd be no less than p4p 3 which he was actually ranked as by Ring for a short period before his horrible effort vs Pascal.

 

Dawson all around is better than Calzaghe. Calzaghe 'SONS" Chad
in the mental dept though and that perhaps is whats most important.
Joe was tough as nails and a determined guy. But technical proficiency
(speed,technique,skill level,defense) Dawson takes it hands down.

 

Joe is undefeated but Dawson isn't.

 

Calzaghe has the better resume for sure, that's not in question, but I don't think it is outrageous to answer this question with Dawson.

 

JC, chad is better technically and maybe defensively but his footwork and workrate - tenacity is miniscule compared to JC

 

ok..... if thats the case dawson is 1 bum joe would stay well clear of. funny considering joe is the bum king.

 

There is nothing to like about Chad Dawson.
Watch him during the Pascal fight.
He sucked.
