Who's a better all round fighter, Pacquao or Calzaghe?

Pacquiao is better at every aspect of boxing than Calzaghe.

Pacquiao is just flat-out the superior fighter.

 

Pacquiao has dominated fighters like Barrera, Morales, Cotto and Hatton.

Calzaghe has dominated fighters like Lacy... Sheika, Veit and Brewer.


Pacquiao had close fights with Morales and Marquez.

Calzaghe had close fights with Hopkins and... Reid.



To anyone with a brain, Pacquiao has proven his effectiveness and all-round ability to a far higher degree than someone like Calzaghe.

Pacquiao has beaten better fighters, and looked better doing it.

atsch i like calzaghe , but it's not even close . Pacquiao is levels above him and far greater resume wise.

 

Personally, I don't think it was all that close. I had it to Hopkins by 4 points. I call a close fight a fight that had a 1-2 point margin. Hopkins was a clear winner. He landed the vast majority of the clean, effective, significant punches in the fight. That fight should be shown to aspiring boxing judges as an exercise, and people who score it for Joe C should be rejected and told to apply again next after they've had 12 months to work out what a scoring punch is and what a non-scoring punch is.

It's a fantasy fight and we know how miserable Pac performs in fantasy fights!

I say it's Calzaghe cause imo he's more slicker then Pacquiao. The way Calzaghe easily dominated undefeated dangerous puncher in Lacy was incredible. He made Lacy look like a complete fool. And that was Lacy in his prime. Hell Calzaghe has beaten 2 undefeated fighters in Lacy and Kessler. <<<Those 2 alone is better then any wins of Pacquiao over way past primes Morales, Past prime Barrera, Diaz, Shot in the dark skinny dehydrated De la hoya, Past prime weight drain Hatton, Past prime weight drain Cotto, hasn't beat a very good fighter in Clottey, past prime inactive Margarito, past prime coming off a lost and a draw in Mosley. The only thing Pacquiao beat that was in his prime is Marquez but Pacquiao didn't beat Marquez clearly.

 

Wrong. The first fight was a draw. Yea you can make a case the judge messed up the scoring but at the same time mostly alot of people from fans, press row judges thought Marquez beat Pacquiao in the rematch.
