Who's a better fighter, Jermaine Taylor or Bernard Hopkins?

There is no comparison. Hopkins is an ATG. Taylor is an HBO-created FRAUD.

 

Trinidad is the better fighter.

Hopkins is better because of the totality of his career. Funny how Hopkins has proven since Taylor how he is better than Taylor, not really before. Had Taylor beaten Wright and Tarver and Pavlik and lost to Calzaghe, he will look better than his losses to Pavlik and draw with Wright.

 

I don't think he is overrated. He beat Hopkins twice. I think he burned himself out early. I am not sure he can ever get it back. He fought too much and had tough fights.

 

if they fought 10 times the result would be the same, a close UD by Taylor ... Hopkins is better technically, but head to head, Taylor is far superior.

i don't think the fight with Pavlik proved anything with either fighter, Pavlik showed that he wasn't that dope -- I also think that Taylor beat Pavlik the second time around ... politics played a part in that ... he's the latest american "white" champion ... the last I can't say who's the last ... maybe, Tommy Morrison?

 

Hopkins proved he was a better fighter when he beat Taylor.

I cant believe this is an actual thread. Taylor got 2 gift decisions against a Hopkins who was dead at the weight and unmotivated.

Hopkins only the proved this by shutting out Pavlik.

 

Put 2001 Hopkins in with any version of Taylor, and this wouldn't even be an issue. Same if it had been 2001 Hopkins fighting Calzaghe. When a man is over 40, he is not the same physical specimen he was in his mid 30s, it's just human nature.

 

Hopkins was ripped off by the judges when he fought Taylor. He is the better fighter by far.
