Both are very questionable to me. Alvarez's chin is still in the jury room and from 2:59 I saw of Lemieux he's still very technically flawed. Camacho Jr. was giving him fits with his footwork. Lemieux reminds me of a fresher Randall bailey, not trying to outbox but just trying to get in range to unleash his power. Its as if hes too dependent of it now. If I had to pick one, Id say Alvarez. Ive seen more skill from him in the ring and can imagine him on his backfoot whereas I cant see it with Lemieux.
I would have to Say Canelo on the basis that imo David only relies on his power...well that's bn workin for him nw, I dnt see him stepping up in class with the same results.
Hard to judge Lemieux until he faces an opponent who asks what's beyond the devestating power, but hey, he should keep blowing opposition out, that's a shortcut to superstardom. Alvarez on the other hand participated in the kind of fights where some legit questions were asked, and I'm very impressed the way Canelo answered them, becoming a better fighter in the process. Watch him vs. Mosley then Gonzalez then Cotto then Baldomir, and you'll see him improving in every aera, and he's far from being a finished product. So I pick Alvarez.
True he did get wobbled by Cotto's little brother but hes like 19-20. most people dont even start til their well into their 20's. with like 30 fights already and wins over very good names, the dudes a breath of fresh air. just hope the talent doesnt get wasted
Really? A power punching middleweight would have a jrwelterweight out in three rounds? That's impressive... I like them both, but I give the slight edge to Alvarez.
We will see in Lemeuix his next couple of fights but for now what I have seen for sure is his power is for real and the difference between him and other boxers that had heavy power is they would walk their man down but what I like about Lemeuix is he has good foot speed and charge's his man down, Alvarez I like him But he has nothing special about the way he fights he really does not do any thing great their just matching him up with the right foe's and he still has not "Wowed" me but at this time not because of boxing ability again I think he is not that great the thing he has going for him is his promoters and how they will make sure he is matched right and milk this as long as they can. Lemeuix right now would KO Alvarez with no problem's.
