Naz's showboating looks like it actually was a tactical decision in some cases. Infuriate and frustrate an opponent until they swing wildly at his chin only for him to counter or exploit their loosened defense. Eubank was more of a showman rather than a showboater. Alot of his was outside the ring. i.e. swaggering to the ring, staring down a hostile German crowd, hopping the rope, donning the faux-upper class persona etc.
Augustus, also worth mentioning is Jorge Paez. But no one comes even close to Augustus, the **** he pulls off while in the process of punching people is downright amazing. It takes very special biomechanics to do what's in the highlight clip another poster added a few posts back.
Who's better? Don't say Jones. Saying 'watch this' and then throwing a flurry isn't even comparable to Naz. Most of Jones 'showboating' is basic posturing.
Don't tell me what to say damn fool RJJ is better Burton/Augustus is better Wittaker is better James Toney Mike "the bounty" Hunter Ali Kid Gavilan(bolo punch)
Ali didn't do it as often as say Roy but what made it so good was because he was a heavyweight (more chance of getting KO'd) and it was ahead of his time, it was sort of new and not many fighters had done it before, he was a sort of pioneer for guys like Roy who went into boxing after watching Ali. Naz was just the whole package in terms of entertainment, ring entrances, KOs, showboating, He would do back flips on top of the KO'd opponents head, he did some outrageous stuff particularly in the early days, by the time he went to america he'd calmed it done a bit, but we Brits saw him at his showboating best. someone who really used it for effect...wasn't really showboating as such and taking the **** out of the opponent. but chris Eubank had such swagger, the guy was unintentionally hilarious and what made it so great was it was sort of understated showboating....he was the gentleman of showboaters...I loved it one time when he KO'd that brazilian Santos at the royal albert hall with practically the first punch he threw, and then he turn to the camera...timed it perfectly in terms of the angle with the starched santos over his shoulder on the shot...looks at santos and just gives this look to the camera like he's talking to you, saying.."see what i just did there? I'm a bad mofo"
