Tough considering Cotto left Manny ..So its a little bit unfair but Diaz seems like a smart coach ..You don't have the success he had in Cuba and not be a good coach ..

But the question is who do YOU THINK is better trainer for Cotto right now going into the Mayweather fight? Do you believe he's made the best decision to leave Emmanual Stewart to train with Diaz? Ronnie Stewart believes Cotto should of stayed with Stewart.

Here's something to consider, not only is a Stewart a proven, HOF trainer, but he's been ringside calling Mayweather's fights for past 10 years or so. You also have to remember that The Kronk gym is in Detroit, and that Mayweather is from Michigan. Stewart has been watching Mayweather fight and train since Mayweather was a kid.

Yeah but that's what this thread is about, i'm asking who's a better trainer for Cotto right now at this point of his career and going into the mayweather fight. In other words who will bring the best gameplan for mayweather out of the 2 trainers.

Its unfair considering Cotto didn't spend much time with Manny ..But his credientals speak for themselves ..If Cotto beats MW than Cotto looks like the genius for sticking with Diaz ..

I already answered this. Stewart is far more proven than Diaz, and he has a much better grip on Mayweather as a fighter considering he's been watching his fights up close and live for almost a decade, and considering he's watched him fight and train since Mayweather was a kid.

Oh ok. Well than your saying that anything Diaz is trying to bring to this fight won't be effective because he hasn't watched Mayweather as much as stewart and he has better credentials than Diaz(as professional boxing trainer) as well. I got it.:good

    Pedro Diaz.

Cotto NEEDS to be pushed, or he will slack. Steward lets his fighters coast at times, Diaz does not.

I never said that at all. What I said that I feel that Stewart would be better suited to train Cotto to beat Mayweather considering his credentials, and considering his long and in depth knowledge of Mayweather as a fighter. Maybe Diaz will come up with a great gameplan that Cotto can execute and Cotto will win. However, if I were Cotto and I wanted to chose the trainer that I felt gave me the best chance to beat Mayweather, it would be Steward. The only other trainers that are more knowledgeable of Floyd, are his dad and Uncles.

Yeah I noticed that too. Lot of that could be due to Diaz adding conditioning drills from a scientific standpoint, along with the boxing standpoints.

I think Diaz right now is the best fit for Cotto especially mentally. Physically Diaz has Cotto working on things he has never seen. He is getting push as to other previous trainers and camps Cotto was basically training himself and running his own show/schedule. There seems to be a lot of respect for Diaz and Cotto actually training hard and being push is something we have not seen very often during footages.

I understood you the first time. You would be more confident with someone like stewart going into a fight with Mayweather. I got you man.:good
