Who's a better trainer for Cotto right now, Emanuel Stewart or Pedro Diaz?

Pedro Diaz is one of the top three coaches in the world, and has the resume to back that up.

He's a big part in me re-considering Cotto's chances in this fight. Boxing is Diaz's life, he has little if nothing else and he cares for little or nothing else.

You can tell Diaz makes him work by the way Cotto expresses himself.

    "He's a loud guy. I don't really...like that."

Which is good for Cotto's chances.

He hasn't been uncomftorble in a training camp since he was with his uncle. Santiago ran a holiday camp and Steward runs a fairly slow paced camp himself.

What are Diaz's credentials at the pro level, and is his resume at the pro level better than Stewart's?

No, Stewards unmatched in the Pro ranks. Probably top of all time.
This is Boxing, and amatuer Boxing is a huge part of it. Emmanual Steward will tell you that himself pal. Pedro Diaz may be the greatest amatuer coach in history, and most; if not all of that is transferable to the pros. He's also a clever guy, I'm sure he can make adjustments.

Did you ever see the Cuban amatuer team? Wow.

Diaz forces Cotto to work, ES didn't really. Cotto needs to be physically perfect and ready to fight, Diaz will get him there.

Yeah there's a lot of great boxers that come out of cuba, so the trainers have to be good at what they do too.

I just seems to me that Diaz meshes well with Cotto. His strengths are Cotto's weaknesses. Steward might be a better trainer overall, but Diaz is best for Cotto.
