    Personally I say Hatton.

Hatton's a two weight world champion, beat one of the greatest fighters to have been in the history of his division in Tszyu, fought against the P4P#1, fought and won many times in America and defeated two guys who were ranked P4P.

What's Calzaghe actually done? His only major win is against Kessler who was the 2nd in line in a poor division. He's missed out on all the big fights and is now fighting Hopkins many years too late.

Are you just trying to get a rise out of people?

Calzaghe, it's obvious that can't Hatton compete against prime elite fighters, barely gets by prime 2nd tier just a few pounds up in fact.:yep

Tszyu was about as past his best as Hopkins is currently, which is not a bad win at all, but Hatton didn't exactly blow him out or anything, it was a competitive fight, which in the end says more for Tszyu than anybody. Then Hatton's 2nd best win is a totally shot Castillo. Then also a number of B level's.

No, I just think Calzaghe's resume is very safe and very ordinary.

Whereas Hatton has tested himself against the best and stepped out of his comfort zone and along the way he's picked up some good victories.

For me, Hatton has achieved more.

Depends on what you value more. Calzaghe cleaned out his division and made a record number of title defenses. Hatton hasn't defended his title nearly that often. On the other hand, Hatton beat Kostya Tsyzu (sp) to get his title, an ATG. Eubank could be construed as an ATG too, though a lower tier one.

So it depends, what do you value more. Hatton's multi division titles, or cleaning out and dominating a division. Usually, I favor cleaning out divisions, since I think that is far more difficult then winning multiple titles in weight classes in the sport now (too many titles to win, Collazo wasn't a champion anyways). However, Calzaghe's division isn't the strongest....it's a wash for me based on this.

Calzaghe however, is the greater of the 2.

I'm well known for being a Calzaghe detractor, just ask his fanbois, but no way has Hatton achieved more than him. Sure he went to America but stuggled against his opponents, besides an over the hill Castillo, & got destroyed by Mayweather.

A prime Mikkel Kessler, a past-it Chris Eubank, and a prime Jeff Lacy are better than a past-it Kostya Tszyu, a shot Jose Luis Castillo, and a shot Vince Phillips.

Joe Calzaghe has achieved far more than anyone else on this forum. Nuff said.

It's a close call, Hatton was a champ in two different divisions, while Calzaghe was content fighting at SM all his career, holding on to his WBO belt, fighting sub-par competition. I feel he made up for it a little by fighting Kessler last year, but still has a long road to travel, to make up for all the lost time.

I guess I will go with Hatton by little bit, but if Calzaghe beats Hopkins, then he edges out Hatton IMO.

now i don't dislike Hatton, but i honestly felt when i saw Hatton vs Tszyu that on neutral grounds Kostya wouldve won.

    just my 2 cents.

I think that Calzaghe's win over Kessler is the greatest achievement between them

It's stronger than 140, trust me. Which Hatton nearly has refused to clean out due to risk/reward factors with guys like Witter.

The Hatton team knew they had little chance against Floyd, but the 10 million dollar pay day was enough to take a loss and the excuse that he's the P4P #1 would even save them from an uncompetitive, embarassing loss that shows his 1 dimensionality.

Kostya Tszyu simply was not prime, or even close to it, otherwise we'd have had a different result at hand.

Ask me this question at the end of Kessler's career.
