I saw zero evidence of that. I saw Warrington calm, cool and collected, outboxing Lara for 2 rounds, and never hurt once.
I’m not from Leeds and I’m not particularly a Josh fan. But why are you underrating him when he has so many good wins under his belt. Lara on the other hand is only famous because he beat Warrington. No because he’s achieved anything else or even held a major world title.
warrington is carefully managed and manoeuvred between promoters he lost the galahad fight imo he needs that wicky advantage he aint avenged shyte thats fact
Mark Magsayo - I'd have to say is the best at the moment, shockingly. It's not all that easy to outbox Gary Russell Jr, and yeah, I know, his arm was injured, but has he had surgery? Nope, not to my knowledge anyway. That also doesn't affect your chin, and every time Mark landed clean he buzzed he iron chinned Russell and that was when he had use of both arms, So in terms of wins, that one is currently the most impressive. Also, I have a hard time seeing him, with his style losing to a guy as beatable and vulnerable as Navarrete. Emanuel Navarrete - Without the immense size advantage now, he's looked terrible at 126 thus far, and very beatable. Without the 2 knockdowns he'd have lost to Ruben VIlla, he was rocked several times by Pitufo Diaz, in an absolute war, and well as gave up several rounds to him. Then against Joet Gonzalez, a draw was the most appropriate score, he looked terrible in that match, and was getting pushed around, beat up and rocked by Joet, who's a bit of a featherfist. So, his days as an elite fighter couldn't be more numbered. Leo Santa Cruz - While he's boring as whale **** to watch at this point, adn couldn't be more featherfisted if he tried. Based on volume alone, he's still a stiff test for almost everyone who isn't a vicious KO artist like the much larger Davis. Hell, he was even pushing around and beating up Tank until the KO. So no one should write Terramoto off yet. I think he's more than capable of outpointing many of the top guys. Gary Allen Russell Jr - Fine, he lost to Magsayo, but what if that injury did hamper him immensely? Maybe it would have caused him to open up more, and get KTFO. After all, Magsayo had more success early, when he was using both hands. It wasn't until he got ultra defensive, and the fight evened up. Regardless, even the version that fought Magsayo would have success against a few of the guys in the top 10. So an uninjured version still probably handily beats most of them. Too soon to rule him out yet. Even if he is a profoundly unlikable impish troll with T-Rex arms. Rey Vargas - This featherfisted Ichabod Crane looking mother****er is up to his 5 foot long neck in trouble when he finally steps up. He lost to both Azat Hovhannisyan and Tomoki Kameda, and got gifts. He's chinny as hell, his knees quiver any time someone lands flush on that tiny little chin of his. Lucky for him, they have a hard time finding it, because it melds into his Adam's apple seamlessly. I doubt he'd see round 2 against wild bngers like Navarrete, Lara or Magsayo. Leigh Wood - I'm a huge fan, I picked him to beat Mould, doubted him against Can Xu, but believed he could pull it off against Conlan. Although that might be his ceiling. While I'm not ruling him out against guys like Magsayo, Navarrete or Russell. I can't imagine he could stand up to their punches. Mauricio Lara - He's certainly a threat to mostly due to his power, but he's also incredibly sloppy, and very fragile, with a different ref, there's a possibility we'd be talking about his shocking loss to Emilio Sanchez at the moment. He doesn't like body shots at all, and even Warrington stunned hima time or two, and in the rematch, he was frustrated and Warrington was performing quite well. So I really do think he got lucky against a rusty Warrington. Isaac Dogboe - Should have arguably 1-4 in his last 5 matches, he got clear as day gifts against both Adam Lopez and Pitufo Diaz. He's too tiny and featherfisted at Featherweight to even come close to being a threat. Josh Warrington - I thought Josh looked good in both of the rounds of the Lara rematch. It remains to be seen whether or not that beating in the first match will have any long term ramifications. However, if he beats Kiko and makes it look easy. He's right back in the mix and should still be considered a player. Stylistically, he's a problem for several guys still. Although I have a feeling now that his chin has been cracked, it could be an issue. Kiko Martinez - I love Kiko, seeing him KO Galahad was a pleasure to behold, but his ceiling is guys around GIll and Galaha level. Even though the first Warrington match was close to a draw, and Kiko could pull it off. Clearly he doesn't fare too well against the rest in the division, because he's already lost to two of them by KO. Ruben VIlla - The hidden potential nightmare in the division, if he'd just get his ass back in the ring. He recovered shockingly well from both knockdowns against Navarrete in rounds that he was winning, even then, he arguably did enough to score a draw. He's the best pure boxer in the division. Can Xu - He's got a damn good chin, he took bomb after bomb flush, and most fairly well. Still a player against a style that favors him. Luis Alberto Lopez - Potential banana peel, his unorthodox style is a pleasure to behold, and his wins over Isaac Lowe and Gabe Floes are nothing to sneeze at. Joet Gonzalez - His grit and tenacity impressed he hell out of me against Navarrete and I still think he did enough for a draw there. Hi chin is excellent, his skillset is top notch, his pressure and backfoot game are solid and scoring a stoppage win over Santisima quicker than NAvarrete is nothing to be sneezed at, still very much a player. Christopher Diaz - His better days are behind him, although he's quite capable of a big upset. Michael Conlan - Little to no chance against most of the elite of the division. Jordan Gill - Fun, showed a lot of heart, but again, little to no chance against most of the elite of the division. Robeisy Ramirez - Still quite unproven, but is getting better by the match.
He's not the only top guy at the weight with a demanding cut. If he moves up, he moves up, but it'd be a shame, because he hasn't been involved in attractive fights at the weight yet (notwithstanding a good win over Joet). That's why I say "too soon".
I would go. Navarette the most dangerous. Russell when healthy. Joet Gonzales and then Lara.Magsayo the best of the rest which is not saying much cuzz.
