But he isn't, there is a reason why Hopkins has been avoiding Dawson for years, he's too young, too fast, and too skilled for Hopkins to deal with. Any knowledgeable boxing fan can see that. Granted the criticism of Dawson has been well deserved, he hasn't looked good his last two fights, but Dawson has bounced back from looking bad to looking good numerous times.

 

All those undefeated boxers were a bunch of euro-bums, and Macklin was robbed. Sturm hardly fights any top 10 MW's. You are just being bias, any fighter can be busy against C level boxers.

And lol if you think Diaconu is a more credible win than Adamek.

 

Bias because I think a fighter who is 14-2-1 in world title fights is better than a fighter who is 7-1 in world title fights, with old men as his big wins.
Many thought Dawson was robbed against double figure losses Johnson who was in his 40s .
You forget that Sturm beat another fighter who became a world champ in his division also.

As for Diaconu and Adamek, Adamek may be a better fighter (may be) but he wasnt a better LHW, you forget that Adamek had 2 life and death struggles with KOd by a jab Briggs. Adamek only has one real top win against S Cunningham. Diaconu is a good LHW win for Dawson, but the overall work of Sturm shades Dawson

Dawson unquestionably is more talented, but is he a better overall fighter? :think Sturm is strong in a lot of the areas where he's got bad habits.

Also, "who would give Hopkins more h2h trouble?" is an entirely distinct third question. :think

 

he was comin on strong in late rounds against pascal, and w/o the brutal cut on his eye IMO he would have ktfo a fading pascal.

 

Its easy to pick holes in competition. List Sturms top 5 wins and its easy to see how criticism can be formed.

 

Yeah a fat out of shape De La Hoya. He also shouldve lost to Macklin, Randy Griffin. Got KO'd by Javier Castillejo and constantly fights tomato cans.

Dawson beat Adamek, Harding, Johnson twice, Tarver twice, Diaconu and you can just see he is a better fighter.

Strum gets KO'd by the level of fighters Dawson has EASILY beat.
