Id say williams since he has seemed to be so good while jumping into different weight classes. I prefer Cottos style though
Not sure about that. Q beat him pretty good and he is not half the fighter that Cotto is nor does he hit as hard but he still busted up PW's face pretty good. At 147 Cotto drills that frail body into submission. at a higher weight I would go with PW though.
They're both very good. I feel Williams has trouble finding his niche and hasn't truly given us his all. I'd like to see him concentrate at 154. Cotto is more proven in the big fights but only cuz he attracts bigger names. Cotto is my favorite based on stylistic reasons and his focus in the ring. I think Williams will truly shine in the future at 154 title fights.
williams would beat cotto williams is better from class to class cotto's style is more solid & believable cotto's resume is better williams is younger cotto has had more oprotunity
PW is good, but even Cotto could had beaten Phillips at 154. Phillips just isnt that good. But at 154 I would give the fight to PW. At 147 I just dont see how he wins.
1) cotto & verno @ 154 would have been very competitive and would not have ended in stoppage like paul williams fight with verno did 2) how is it you feel williams has 0 chance of beating cotto @ 147 when paul williams can do exactly what margarito did to beat cotto except do it way more better & convincingly and legally ? high volume.... check attacks from all angles... check endurance.... check chin... check longer & tall as margarito (taller & longer)... check has power .... check i like cotto but it would probably be ugly....cotto is suceptible to punchers with fast hands... i could see pw putting him to bed
Cotto a better boxer-check Cotto more power then PW-check, just ask Q PW at 147 did not know how to use his reach which plays into Cotto's hands. PW at 147 has a frail body which again plays into a hard body puncher like Cotto. I dont believe he can take it to the body at all. PW can not do what Margo did cause he does not press the action, he is not a pressure fighter who dont care about getting hit. So how exactly can he do the same to Cotto? I see Cotto stopping frail body PW late in the fight. As for fast hands, he matched pretty well with Shane didnt he?
Are you forgetting how much leather Cotto landed in the first half of the fight? Would Williams be able to stand as much punishment? Margarito didn't land anywhere near the number Cotto landed when Margarito and Williams fought and he was growing on the decline until the final round. And that was when Margarito started slow...Quintana won because he rushed Williams from the start. I expect Cotto do the same. Williams also has shitty head movement. He's there to be hit. His defense isn't that great and said that Malthysee (or however you spell his name) was hitting him left and right...and he claims that was the hardest puncher he's ever faced...I'm pretty sure Cotto hits much harder... I think it'll be a much closer fight than you think...but yes...P.Will is the favorite...but not by much.
cmon man stop it.... im not even being a fan boy either... im being completely objective... it took cotto like 6 or 7 rounds to put out cq... pw did it in 1.... whats your point... you dont think he can take all that banging to the body? check the margarito fight... margarito went threw a full 12 roudns of margarito destroying his body and he survived... pw does not press the action? wow ... i should have read your reply before i started typing forget about cotto & punishment... pw is faster, more acurate and comes from more strange angles because of his long arms than margarito does.... due to this cotto will have a hard time getting off.... or even worse... pw could just keep him on the outside and box him for 12 rounds... pw is like 6 2 and cotto is all of 5 7 ... pauls arms are so long that it would be easy to just keep him at bay with the jab so your comparing paul williams who fought mattyshsee to the paul williams of today? that fight was year 3rs ago dog... you want to compare miguel cotto who fought giancana branco to the cotto of today?
