I didn't knew Cotto had this many haters, I don't get how Williams is better than Cotto. He's only doing good at welter because of his size, his defense will be his doom once he faces a great puncher. Sure he has a great chin but like Margarito, once you get hit with many shots you will go down.

People here really underrate Cotto's boxing skills. Then they see someone as sloppy as Williams and say that he's better technical fighter?

:rofl Williams is there to be hit. And he got nailed with some hard shots, as hard as what Margarito landed on Cotto, if not Harder.

Williams just takes a punch better.

You need to start watching boxing before you start posting about boxing.

Technique/Skills can only take you so far. I've seen some extremely skilled young fighters never make it because they lacked one thing or another.

Hit him with loaded gloves. Paul isnt going to walk cotto down and cotto wont be playing elusive master with his mayweather routine. cotto will stalk it will be a tottally diffrent fight margo split his eye tru it was with loaded gloves but it was a clean punch. paul will slip into a slugfest when he gets hit. he is not forgiving. slug it out with cotto you will see the diffrence between a 9 and a shotgun

Williams is better in every aspect, except body punching & quitting.

I get what you are saying, but I've read some people say that Williams' skills are better than Cotto's which is ridiculous.

I agree, Cotto is better skilled. But in all honesty, I don't know who would win. That's why this fight is intruiguing to me. Cotto could outbox, and pound Williams' body, or William's could catch Cotto with a single shot, or out work him.

    Hard fight to predict.

I agree, people are writing Cotto off just because of the Margo fight. I don't know how good Williams is at defending his body, but I do know he's very hittable upstairs, but he does seem to have a good chin like Margo who knows.
Then again he got outboxed by Quintana. I got so many doubts on Williams, maybe the Winky fight will show us something.

I went in against top amatures in the golden gloves.... so i you can save the watch boxing routine yall always come with. I lived it forget watching it. dont insult me clown

So let me break it down to you paul williams isnt there to be hit per se he throws about 5 dozen punches per round in a whirl wind of piddy pat punches.(joe chalzagie styled fighter) there hard to hit because they create defense w there offense. no paul didnot take some hard shots he took A hard shot. anyother punches were grazed and half blocked majority were on the forearm and arms because they were looping compared to pw piddy slappy punches which were short he showed some decent power when he got his eye crashed open and brawled but. he can fight like that for 12 rounds and it wont bother cotto and they are nowere near hard as cottos punch:hi:

No one I know says anything about pure skill...

But Wiliams has qualities that Cotto just can't overcome. He's 6'2 (at least) 82" reach, southpaw, excellent stamina, and excellent chin. All of these traits together is just too much for a guy who has been hurt by damn near every 147 he's been in the ring with.

And don't mention that Margarito handwrap excuse or the Williams-Quintana I fight.... Unless you can talk about Williams-Margo and Cotto-Margo...

And you can cry about Williams' height advantage all you want, but it's really ***** **** and excuses. You weigh, you play.

Why do you keep saying Cotto is better skilled? If he was better so skilled, wouldn't he have had an easy time with AM?

I've already said that Williams will only win imo only because of his size advantage alone.
And yea some people have said that Williams is better at Cotto in pure skill.

    That's right.

    Which one is it?

People say he hits harder than Williams, is faster than Williams, and has better skills. But he got KOed by the same guy Williams beat? :huh

Williams would be able to put too much pressure on Cotto, who is semi-glass-jawed. And all the fans and support in the world ain't gonna help him when he has to face all those damn punches coming from a 6'2 Southpaw...

So the fact that PW has a superior chin, superior stamina, and superior workrate to Cotto has nothing to do with it, huh?
