Wait is the question is who's the better fighter or is it who would win in a h2h fight? Because Cotto is obviously way better than Williams and I mean technically he's the better fighter. Williams has TOO MANY flaws and his defense is worst than Cotto's.
Williams would beat Cotto at 147(though I don't know if he can still make the weight) just because of his height advantage. But I still have my doubts because of the way he got outboxed by Quintana. Once he goes to fight top fighters at 154 or 160 he's gonna get beaten and badly.

Cotto is a one handed fighter ... he only has power in his left hand and he rarely throws rights at all. When he needed to against Margarito ... he didn't throw any --
Williams out classed Margarito, beat him to the punch ... outboxed him ... and tee'd off on Margarito's dome and there's no doubt that if Williams faced Margarito again that he wouldn't have knocked him out. (even before the Mosley loss)

Williams looked flat in his loss to Quintana but knocked him out in the first round in the rematch.
Cotto stopped Quintana in fight but broke him down rather than hit him with a devastating punch.

Williams can box ... punch with both hands effectively ... he can move better than Cotto and has more power than Cotto.

Cotto is very hittable and he has a shaky chin --

Head to Head ... Williams knocks Cotto out ...

Skill for skill Williams is head and shoulders above ... naturally and technically

Williams has learned the pro game off of experience ... Cotto has learned through politics.

And how would you rate Williams' defense?

I agree, but only because of his height and like I said I still have my doubts because of the Quintana fight, his "too much pressure" sure didn't work there.

    I completely disagree.
    :huh

Paul is improving and is much better than the version who beat Margo over a year ago. He would beat Margo 10 out of 10 times. Margo can't beat Williams and that's why he wouldn't avenge his loss. He can't outwork Williams and he can't outbox him either. Williams will always be know as Margo's daddy deal with it Margosexual.:hi:

Hey comon if people think Cotto can outbox Williams they actually have a good reason to believe so, Quintana did showed a very vulnerable side of Williams. I know he might have not been focused or whatever but still.

And the limited Margarito also gave Williams a very tough fight, and props to Williams for stepping it up in the final round and clearly winning the fight. But he still struggled with him.

Because the straight right hand that kept Mosley back, put GOmez on his ass, and landed on Margarito all night, didn't work at all...yea...you're right

Outclassed? :nut:rofl...How about you come out and say it...you hate Cotto...it'll save us a lot of trouble with trying to take you seriously

He looked flat because he was outclassed :good

    Like that's something new :patsch

Williams is a volume puncher witha lotta height and reach. He never uses those strengths properly. He's there to be hit. He has ZERO head movement. Relies too much on his size and can't conduct himself properly after being flustered a bit with punches.

That's what happened with Quintana, Margarito, and for a small while with Phillips...

Once Cotto starts firing back. Williams will not know what to do but fight off the back foot.

Take as many punches to the face and keep pushing forward.

The second Williams starts getting tagged, he starts moving backwards and fights off the back foot. This will give Cotto momentum. Margarito never allowed Cotto to build momentum
