I'd never say because I don't know what's been real with Margarito. But if you could somehow prove that he never cheated before the Mosley attempt, I say Margarito. Tony did have some valuable assets. He was slowish like Froch but also had a tremendous chin, the ability to find really good shots, especially considering the slowish nature of his punches and ...eh, who cares.

You CANNOT compare rabbit punching to ****in LOADING YOUR GLOVES! And if you cant see the differance you're a ******.

Marg shoulda been banned for life.

Both fighters throw wide punches and leave their chin exposed but that's where the similarities end. Margarito is superior offensive fighter with or w/o plaster. His pressure is his far more difficult to cope with because of his high punch output. And although both fighters have poor defenses, Margarito at least keeps his hands up while Froch, for reasons unknown considering how slow he is, fights with his front hand below his waist leaving his chin completely exposed.

I don't normally have positive things to say about Margo, but this Froch comparison certainly has done the trick.

Assuming Marg did not cheat, to me is/was a smart fighter. He achieved much with limited athletism. One of the reasons for his poor defense is his lack of speed. He made up for his slowness with smart and tremendous pressure. Excellent punch selection, good at cutting the ring, just did things that I have not seen from Froch.

Smart Boxers adjust to whatever fits them better. Marg would take 3 to land 1 due to his complete lack of speed, just like Mayweather is fast and elusive hence his defensive prowess. Now froch fights as if he is roy jones, but without being at all gifted.

:patsch This is not even close,Margarito by miles. People want to question if Margarito use the plaster in other fights . Well ive watched Margarito since early in his career, as he fought several of his fights in Southern California he was already beating up on tough journeyman when he was 18,also stopped Sergio Martinez when both were up and coming. I really doubt he was cheating then,as he was already talented. Hes has fought and beat guys better than Froch.

Hard to say what has been real and what has been an illusion with Margarito. Very hard to say. I think Margarito is better in that he throws more correct punches, has a higher work-rate, and a better chin, both have bad defence. But I just don't know how often he had brickhands and how much that added to his power. That extra power could make a huge difference when a guy punches as often as Margarito.

Well, there's a reason that rabbit punching is illegal in boxing, and it's the same reason that loading your gloves is illegal...it can kill or seriously, seriously injure somebody. They aren't morally equivalent since one requires malice of forethought but they're both pretty awful things to do.

Margarito is tougher, more intense and has much, much more solid fundamentals. Him by light years.

I'm not hating on Froch but I had to go for Marg. He has much better technique, punch output and uses pressure far more effectively imo. Even though opponents may have been able to withstand Margarito's pressure better if he had been loading for a while he still gets an easy nod from me.

Froch still has time to learn

Our old plastering friend is better I say

Damn these pics never get old:rofl

Truth is, I don't know if he's been using plaster, or for how long etc, and that would obviously make a difference but to me Margarito easily. His defence isn't great but Carls is non-existant, he throws much better shots (doesn't mean harder shots), and his chin is freakishly good. You gotta drop a car on the guys head just to wobble him. Against Cotto he had to walk through hell, and was then able to land some great body shots and uppercuts.

Margarito wins hands down on hairstyle and facial hair style too. His wife is fine too, although Froch's lady isn't bad either.

LMFAO at all these "Is Froch better than..." threads poping up. Wonder how long before someone makes a "Is Froch better than Michael Jennings/John Ruiz?" thread
