Okay, let's just say the Freitas that decisioned Casamayor and knocked-out Jorge Barrios steps in the ring with the current Edwin Valero at 135. Who do you think will win and why? Who's bomb is much more explosive, Freitas' right or Valero's left? Just my two cents, even with the superior quality of opposition, I think Valero edges Freitas on this one. I feel this will be a slugfest with a "who lands first" type of ending. He was lucky to beat Casamayor, and Jorge Barrios is not exactly a true one-punch KO artist, and he had Freitas on the brink several times. I expect both fighters to touch the canvas before a spectacular ending.
We're yet to know if we've witnessed Valeros prime as of yet, and we won't know for several years. So the title is misleading.
juan diaz broke popo into retirement and he is not a heavy puncher... valero will submit popo with his heavy punches.
IMO the Freitas from the Casamayor fight throughly outboxes Valero on way to a mid to late round KO. Freitas was more vulnerable with Barrios but that wsa because of the Argentinian's pressure style with no quit on him. He did have good boxig skills to go along wit his big power. We do not know how Valero's chin holds up or his heart and toughness. We do know he is way t oeasy to counter coming in a thing Freitas at his best did good.
