if Ricky beats Gonzalez, then beats Rees in Semptember, he will have made absolutely zero progress within an entire year I ****ing love Gavin and I said he would make a lot of US fans with a gritty little effort against Broner, which he did, but let's be real he was beaten badly and he doesn't deserve to share the ring with Ricky any time within the next year
If this is the mandatory then I reckon thats who Burns should fight in his next one.Forgot the name{senility}but looked at the record and the guys unbeaten with a lot of knockouts.Cant see anybody complaining at that.Lets face it,Vasquez falling through was a bummer.Think they can redeem the situation somewhat with this one.But as somebody said, don't hold your breath.
Whats his rating? If he's a top ten man and unbeaten he may or may not be a better boxer than Mitchell.Or even Burns for that matter.
Good drive fae vegas to LA and back done it once afore got caught doin 96 by the sheriff fined me $450, bumped, LA is a great place, bit rough but quality get yersel up the griffith observ with a spliff canna whack it.
Plus if they're talking Gavin that is a step back,a man coming off a loss to one champion to face another.Unless they want to keep it amongst themselves. If they start this people will be wishing for the good old days to come back.
Mitchell was top 10 with all the independent rankings. same as Katsidis and Moses. He is No.53 in the world with Boxrec. Only ranked by the WBO. Record looks good but has beat nobody. Never had a 12 rounder. Theres 4-5 good Lightweight contenders he could fight.
Rees is not the fight May 11th. Rees fights June. If he fights someone decent and wins he becomes a good opponent again.
Ive never thought that Gavin and Ricky was all that bad a fight, just that he shouldn't be awarded a shot on the strength of a brave showing against Broner. If its as you say,Rob,lets see what happens and who he beats to earn his shot.Take your point about the mandatory, maybe he isn't all that good.Hate to keep repeating it,and I know what you'd say,but they're all a bit poor compared to the Vasquez match.
I have a feeling that Burns and Hearn will get quite a bit of stick if it`s Gonzalez and rightly so imo especialy if he`s not the mandatory.
