It's not uncommon for a fight not to be fully signed a few weeks out. Often you have an agreement in principle and the final contract is where everything is ratified. Not standard, but it does happen. Regardless, if the journalist had reported there were claims from Vazquez's camp that the fight wasn't on, that's quite different to saying the fight was never signed - at least legally speaking. When you know someone is litigious, you cover your arse by documenting every source when you make a post. Either way, you're speculating the guy got a letter. First rule of journalism? Check your sources are legit and you have back-up when it comes to it.
from what has been said , he will get a 'easy' fight in may - just to sell tickets etc line everyones pockets and stuff then In sept they will try for some one 'decent' Before a big fight in dec when ****ing everyone good will prob be 'unavailable'
I don't think I have double standards when it comes to matchmaking. I have praised Franks matchmaking and been critical of Hearns. In general I think Hearn takes more risks and makes more competitive fights. I don't thinks thats a crazy comment. I gave a list of fighters that I would deem acceptable, if its anything outside of that I will take an issue with it.
Like i have said,it's in the Hearn column thread.he will not get Broner before December if at all.Vasquez possibly in September and a 'solid' opponent in May.its bs,y not Vasquez in may??
Considering Frank thinks he has a fight signed with Vazquez, I have the feeling trying to make that fight right off the bat could cause legal issues for Matchroom. Also, it'll probably be a nightmare to negotiate this now.
But it depends on the contract.if it was to fight burns and not just fight on that date then surely there is no issue. If its not legally a problem then waiting a few more weeks is better than not at all and then take Broner in sept? Ricky needs a high level opponent.
Vasquez, Abril & Broner are not the only good fights that can be made for Burns. Also worth noting Vasquez & Abril are boring fighters and those fights would stink the place out.
Jonsey/USA Rob. there you go, surmising again .....If what Mr Jacobs said initially was indeed true and could be demonstrated to be true then it wouldn't matter if the Pope sent him a threatening letter, the truth is the truth. Publish and be damned and all that jazz. Fact of the matter is your source ****ed up, end of story, he's admitted as much. You ran with it and now you are trying to distance yourself. As for Twitter, the prat is probably too embarrassed to post , I know I would be, his stock and credibility have taken a nose dive. If your list of fighters include Vazquez then I'll take him
No doubt the four of them are the best in the division. But don't ignore the fact theres other fighters. Theres 7-8 fighters in the division where I wouldn't be shocked if they beat Ricky. If Raymundo Beltran got the fight I would fancy him. Has wins over Lundy, Kim and was robbed vs Bogere & Ramos Jnr.
He said the fight wouldn't happen and the contract wasnt signed. This was all true and the fight didn't happen? The fight wasnt signed until late Feb, all parties have admited that.
