i would love to see the fight too. but when you have been punched in the head for 20yrs whats wrong with making some top dollar when you bow out. give him a break.

That's fine, and fair enough - but if what you say is true don't expect people to show respect or give credit for his upcoming matches.

Also when he states on TV that another fighter is ducking him when that is clearly not the case - it is the other way around - don't expect people not to comment on it.

I thought a part of the reason he stayed in Wales for his whole career was he was already making excellent money?

But yes, boxers have every right to maximize their earnings.

They are both waiting for the right offer. Calzaghe doesn't need Pavlik, and Pavlik doesn't know what fear is. Neither is afraid of the other.

in all honesty i truely believe there has been no ducking going on from either side.
its all promoting a fight that could happen if both fighters get through there next fight.
the simple fact is that your average armchair boxing fan in the uk couldnt point pavlic out in a police line up. and the same could have been said about calzaghe in the u.s before the lacy fight.
so its all about building up public interest.
so lets hope they both win and get it on.
my money is on cazaghe by the way. i just think he is to crafty for pavlic

i was lucky enough to meet the guy a few months before the kessler fight in a club where i live and i was speaking to one of the lads he was with and he told me he would have 2 more big money fights after kessler and retire.
thats why frank warren has gone. to maximise his earnings.
he basically told me it was all about the money.

Considering the history of both fighters, e.g. JC not willing to fight in the U.S., and Pavlik taking on anyone at anytime, and publicly saying he hasn't heard any offers from JC --- is there any doubt???? Of course JC is dodging Pavlik. Pavlik is at his absolute prime and is at the top of his game. Who wouldn't be fearful (if they had a world to lose that is)?:bbb

Yep -- he said 2 more fights; Hopkins and the winner of Pavlik/Taylor II. In Joe's own words, "Probably Kelly Pavlik." And, "Yes, fighting Roy Jones would be a bit of a wet squib."

By the time AA figures out he can't lie on the ropes and play turtle against KP it will already be too late. :deal

None of them are ducking each other, its all business and money and politics. You wankers just want something to moan about and use as fantisay ammuniton to hate on either one of the two of them you hate.

What's wrong with Floyd doing it then? He did far far more than Calzaghe career-wise...

    :patsch

    My bad, forgot Floyd's American...
