im excited for all the possible matchups at 147. maidana/garcia maidana/thurman maidana/paulie maidana/porter all these guys can fight eachother garcia/thurman garica/porter garcia/paulie so many good fights dont forget j. lopez just got back in the winners bracket so hes in the mix as well. then losers bracket broner/guerrero broner/mattysse broner/soto karass guerrero/mattyhsse would be good as well.
I've been pleasantly surprised by Golden Boy's matchmaking , so I wouldn't be shocked if Maidana-Thurman happened sometime in late '14. Thurman-Ortiz\Collazo and Maidana-Guerrero are more likely in the meantime, however.
I'd be excited for it but I think it would be one-sided in favor of Thurman. Khan survived the entire fight by running away with his hands up, and you know Thurman can do that all night and still knock a dude out. His style (power-counterpuncher/mover?) is really made to beat Maidana. But I mean hey...Maidana could catch him so it'll be one you don't go to the fridge during.
Thurman is getting better with every fight. Excited to see this guy fight again no matter who the opponent.
