Cotto Wants Mayweather To “Stop Making Excuses”

By Eric Thomas: In the latest boxing news, undefeated WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25 KOs) has called out WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr (39-0, 25 KOs), saying to “stop making excuses” for not fighting him. As of now, Mayweather, 30, has a scheduled rematch with Oscar De La Hoya to take place on September 20th in Las Vegas. Depending on the outcome of the fight, it’s difficult to say when/if Mayweather will be interested in a bout with the unbeaten 27 year-old Cotto.

I don't care all that much about the "calling out". Mayweather and Hatton were already negotating for awhile before Hatton-Castillo.

Mayweather and Cotto and thei teams gotta get down to business at the negotating tables.

Cotto not calling out Mayweather after his fights (although he has critizied Floyd in the media) doesn't mean much to me.

when Fraud shows courage enough to get in the ring with the Cotto-AM winner I will first look out the window to see if any pigs are indeed flying around. . . then Ill give him the due respect. . . .until then he is a coward IMHO.

Sorry bra that's called MARKETING BULL****!!!:good
And please stop saying SRL did this for Hearns!!!! The first fight between the two prime undefeated men was pushed back 9 MONTHS. Given Floyds routine? It'll be at least a year and he's talking Ricky Hatton again which could be 2 years. ITS NOT THE SAME THING AT ALL!!:nono

The rest is the same tired ass, see through garbage that the Mayweather camp always says. ITS OLD MAN!!!! NO ONE wants to hear that **** anyMORE:yikes They wanna hear "Make the ****ing Fight" Run tel dat Leonard:lol:

There's no way to deny Cotto, especially if? PBF beats DLH again and Cotto beats Marg. NO ****ING ECUSE, MARKETING, or MAGIC will be supported.

I don't think Cotto or Arum have directly called out Mayweather. There's been indirect hints like when Arum said Floyd was a coward, like when Cotto gave the interview saying that Mayweather was not the number one without fighting the number one fighters. But still, no official offer or public statement in which Cotto or Arum have actually implicitly stated we want Floyd. If there is I have not heard of it. So until then this issue is about both fighters not fighting each other and protecting their O's and therefore a non issue.

Floyd fighting Delahoya shows more balls and brains then him fighting Margarito. What you think Floyd beleives that Clottey and Williams can come out of a fight with Margo in good health but he cant????? You people really ****ing amaze me sometimes!

It's quite ridiculous isn't it. PBF can beat a boxer like Oscar at 154 Margo loses to Santos at 154 but PBF is somehow scared of him and would lose to him.:patsch  :rofl  PBF is a stylistic nightmare for a plodder like Margo and I think realistic boxing fans already know this it's only the haters who think a flawed guy like Margo beats him.
