This is in response to the video posted regarding DLH/Floyd. My question is who's fault was it that the biggest fight in boxing history turned out to be a borefest? Was it Oscar's, who swore he was coming in for a knockout? Was it Floyd's, who swore he was gonna make it a war, massacre DLH? I say it is Floyd's because he failed to understand the showbusiness aspect of boxing, which means when you are on a stage that big you have to put on a show as well as win. I think DLH has been on that big stage long enough and he came in to deliver his part of the "war" whereas Floyd didn't.

IT was PBFs fault. Oscar was pursuing the KO. I believe it was PBF who said it was gonna be a toe to toe fight.

It didn't suck, there was a great deal of skill, countering, defensive brilliance, effective attacks etc

As for why wasn't it a brawl, because

    A. Mayweather is too small to go toe-toe with the much bigger Delahoya

    B. Elite defensive boxers don't do this, watch a British title fight like Mitchell-Johansen if you want a brawl and what a wonderful brawl that was, Gatti-Ward eat your heart out

I enjoyed the fight. You can't exactly blame Floyd for not standing and trading with Oscar, it would have been suicide.

It was neither DLH or Floyd's fault. Unless DLH was able to somehow knock Floyd out, everyone could have predicted a boring fight. With DLH's dramatic size difference, it was obvious that Floyd wouldn't trade shots with him. That would have been stupid as ****. Then there were obvious questions as to whether Oscar could penetrate Floyd's defensive and land any effective shots. The answer to the latter was no. This fight was a good "sped-up chess match", but the idea that it was going to be exciting or action-packed were erroneous from the start.

I bring it up because the two boxers were "selling" a war to the public. False advertisement!

The fans fault. For not knowing enough about boxing to understand what was going to happen. Mayweather came to win. To do that, you don't stand toe to toe with a man who outweighs you by at least 15lbs on fight night. It would have been stupid on his part. Anyone who knew Mayweather and his style knew this.

They are supposed to sell the fight, just like anyone else sells anything else. It's the publics job to sift throught the BS (just like any other product that advertises) and find out what's the real.

I agree with your general point... but Oscar did not outweigh Floyd by 15 pounds. Floyd probably came in the ring about 152, Oscar probably came in the ring at about 158 at the max. When Oscar weighs above 160, his physique looks like ****.

Mayweather claimed he weighed no more than 148 on fight night. And I though DLH has been weighing over 160 for his fights at 154 for years. When he tries to train to weight 160 and then puts on weight, he looks bad. I could be wrong....perhaps a check of the DLH-Vargas fight night weights will confirm this. Or DLH-Mosley.

It was Floyd's fault, Oscar was trying to make it entertaining but Floyd preferred to secure a boring, close, secure win instead of the massacre that he promised.
