Lol I knew from the Calzaghe-RJJ-Hopkins thread that you haven't watched a fight of any of those fighters and this confirms it. if you think RJJ's best asset was "****", you either haven't watched a minute's footage of him and don't understand what you see in the ring.
I will state those that criminally haven't been said lol: Gomez Louis, yes Louis. Rarely out of position and very precise with his movements Sanchez Ezzard Charles Holyfield I'm a fan of Sanchez, Gomez, and Charles but a long time admirer of Louis & Holy too. Hearns' footwork wasn't that bad either, pretty solid if you ask me especially for a tall fighter as is Wlad's and Vitali's.
I woulda posted Louis too, techks, but let's be honest, he could be a little too static there for his own good sometimes. and you know im a huge louis fan.
I think Pac has some of the best feints Ive ever seen. But you guys really think his footwork is top notch? Im not saying he's terrible at it, but he sure does appear off balance a lot, to me. As far as best today, I like Bhops and Floyds footwork. James Toney had ( has ) some good stuff too.
His footwork was usually solid when he did move and he does deserve a mention. Not the best but solid footwork. How about Luis Rodriguez, Ike Williams, and Jose Napoles then? Better mentions?
He does deserve a mention IMO for his skill in drawing guys in with quick backsteps... He just ran into trouble against the best movers sometimes because he'd rely too much on the strategy. When he did come out trying to move and kill with baer and schmeling we saw the result though. yeah i like the footwork of all three of those quite a bit as well, especially mr. napoles. Another one i like a lot is Tony Canzoneri, great range negotiation.
