I don't know much about MMA, but I think Randy's just too old and Arlovski will get submitted....

Crocop. But the prime version of crocop.
Arlovski's case is not totally hopeless though.

Nogueira should've been a perfect candidate but fedor annihilated him in his prime.

Josh Barnett is a perfect candidate (+ he's still in his prime)...

If crocop still has it...if he decides to fight , kinda like arlovski did vs rothwell (one of arlovski's best fight in years)...Then he's one of the most dangerous for fedor.

But Barnett would be stylistically very difficult too.

On another note , i'd love to see fedor vs the likes of
    Antonio Silva
    Sergei Kharitonov
Manhoef (maybe a bit too small though)
Werdum (even though nog already defeated him once in pride)

And of course if nog is defeated by Mir , then...it would also be great to have mir vs fedor.

but the most important fights for fedor in the mean time are against barnett & arlovski

I dont get the Cro Cop thing sorry boxingcar but I watched that fight agian about 3 weeks ago and Fedor dominated him and Cro Cop didnt exactly look hot in 2007 and WTF is he up to now ? Anyway I give Couture,Barnett,Arlovski the only good shots. Couture because if Couture can get on the inside everyone knows about his takedown ability he could very well get 1 and land a few of his short elbows that cut open Fedors paper thin skin sure its not the best way to win a fight but when YOU cut a man open with a legit shot then its a win. Barnett matches up nicely his striking is improving and hes a real well versed grappler and could give Fedor a tough fight. Arlovski knows Fedors style of grappling well and id give him a edge on the feet the guy I always said hits like a Heavy and moves like a Lightweight anything can happen. Another guy id give somewhat of a chance to is Gabriel Gonzaga but it seems whenever the guy has the fight taken to him he crumples then falls apart much like Vitor Belfort. If Gonzagas mental game was straight he could get the job done hes good a strong skill set great leg kicks, strong high kick, heavy handed, execellent takedowns, solid GNP and hes a Mundial BJJ World Champion.

Machida's hit and run would work woders. Karate type kicks scoring for 3 rounds.

No real fan would enjoy a victory like this...it's bull****. Like vitali vs lennox. There would be no merit to win because of a cut stoppage.

So why crocop ? Rewatch the fight again.
oh and i didnt say that today's crocop would be worth a **** against fedor.
I'm just saying the guy from 2005 was his biggest threat.

There was a time when crocop could dominate a wrestler like barnett on the ground. That time is gone though.

    Crocop vs fedor...
in that fight , fedor wasn't able to submit him. (crocop had a superb sub defense ) , he landed several powerful shots too , did a lot of damage. the guy from 2005 was reactive , fast and accurate enough to often hurt fedor.

In the end , he still lost because he couldn't keep up with fedor's pace & workrate and even though his sub defense was top notch , fedor always had the dominant position so he wasted all his time defending himself...

I also remember him almost landing a high kick to fedor's head. (what if he hadn't slipped before impact ? )... all in all , it was one of fedor's most dangerous fight...

I would've loved seeing a remtch between these two. Today , i think crocop would get submited fast...But if Arlovski can come back like he did vs rothwell , maybe there's a chance for him too...but that's more like wishful thinking on my part.

apart from him , i truely believe that Barnett is a perfect match (stylistically) for a guy like fedor and that a fight between these two would be very competitive.

Let's first see what arlovski is capable of , then we'll be able to judge the rest in a few months from now.

The closest I have ever seen Fedor come to losing was against Arona. Actually, my opinion of the fight was that he actually lost, but he got the win. At any rate, I'm guessing a guy who shares some of Arona's characteristics (i.e. tremendous strength, ability to smother opponents when on the ground, etc.).

No Arona definitly lost that fight. But i'm not surprised that you're saying the contrary since it's rare to see fedor struggling to get a win so it can be quite shocking at first. Arona was doing great but not enough to even grab a split decision especially under ring rules.

Arona had the 1rst round , second round was a draw (though fedor had a slight advantage) , and final round was fedor's..Not to mention... Arona was also spending too much of his time getting his head stuck in guillotine attempts.

Arona would get raped under mma rules in a rematch though. What you saw was under RING rules. It's different from both ufc and pride and it takes a serious ground technic to dominate under these rules (Couture himself , lost twice in that organisation and was owned in less than minute if i remember correctly)...

Arona is one of the most dominant pure grappler in mma but he's still too one dimensional to be a champion...(though he'd give nightmares to almost everyone in ufc's LHW division)

The closest fedor ever got to a real loss was vs Fujita.

Funny thing is people keep bringing up that fight. I've watched it like 5 times and everytime im asking myself same question, "How do people think Fedor lost that fight?" It's just one of like 2 fights he didn't dominate.

I think many people disregard Rings rules when watchin that fight.
