    Usyk, EASILY.

Usyk had terrific run in the cruiserweight title fights facing back-to-back:

    - prime Glowacki
    - very good top contemder Thabiso Mchunu
    - undefeated top contender Michael Hunter (both Hunter and Mchune has proven tyhemselves even more so AFTER Usyk beat them)
    - past prime but still very good Marco Huck
    - prime Mairis Briedis, who is probably one of the 5 best cruiserweights ever
    - prime Gassiev
    - former champion Tony Bellew who just KO'ed David Haye (admittedly shot) twice

Lomachenko also had some very good wins - Russell, Walters, Linares, old and small (but still good) Rigo

But... Loma has fought absolutely pedestrian, average fighters inbetween - Rodriguez, Koasicha, Sosa, Marriaga, Crolla etc. I'll rank Usyk's worst opponent in the title fights (Mchunu) MUCH higher than the guys like Sosa, Marriaga or Tatakum, let alone journeymen like Rodriguez or Koasicha.

Shocking how many people disagree with this. You basically wrote out my exact thoughts that I summed up in one sentence thinking it was self-explanatory, cheers.

I think the problem for Usyk is that, for whatever reason, he doesn't seem to get enough credit for Breidis, Gassiev etc. Maybe because these guys are not that well known in the US, but that does not lessen them IMO.

I'd favour Briedis and Gassiev to beat most of the current crop of Heayweights outside of Joshua and Fury.

It's just a shame that Gassiev seems to have stagnated since his loss to Usyk. I heard he was moving up to Heavyweight, but doesn't seem to have materialized.

It's ironic that not only was Loma never really the best fighter in the sport (contrary to what ESPN tried to shove down our throats for years), but he was never even the best Ukrainian fighter in the sport.

If we're combining amateur and pro then it's Lomachenko, if it's just pro then it's Usyk.

Look out! The one thing boxing hipsters like more than Eastern Euro fighters is Holyfield.
