Im not a calzaghe hater fool i was a fan of his when he was active and i rate him as an atg. But i tell it like it is, Calzaghe's resume is not great both canelo and ward have better resumes and both have accomplished more. Calzaghes best win is either a faded hopkins or a prime Kessler. Btw ward clowned Kessler a guy who was picked to destroy him and picked along with Abraham to win the super 6. Ward dominated the super 6 in grand fashion as an underdog going in. He also beat kovalev 2x a guy people like you said ward would never fight and if he did would leave the ring on a stretcher. Ward made a career of proving people like you wrong. Canelo has fought at more weights beat guys like ggg a guy people like you said would khtfo. He won titles at 154 160 168 and 175 that's impressive. Btw I think bivol would beat Calzaghe at 175 just like he beat canelo there.
I dislike ward but he has the slightly better resume right now. Canelo would need to take out someone like benavidez or charlo for me to comfortably put him above ward.
Neither of those 2 have beaten anybody so how can a W over one of those 2 nobodies put anyone over the top of anything? Benevidez may someday be in the conversation but not now. Charlo? He is a part-time "never was" protected fighter that was pushed to the limit by faded Korobov who went winless the rest of his career.
Ya you're the champion of the world as in you are the best fighter. Nothing to do with where the fights are geographically located.
Canelo by a landslide. He will be remembered and accomplished more professionally whereas no one ever knew who Ward was. He was too inactive, too local and too boring. Now if you asked me who would win in a fight...
Canelo has achieved more but I think Ward was the better fighter. Had they fought at 168, Ward would of schooled him. It's a shame Ward was so risk adverse he should of fought Bute when it mattered, rematched Froch and fought Dawson at 175. He should of also not wasted so much time suing his promoter.
Canelo has had the more storied career, and it is not even close. I do think the first GGG decision was wrong. GGG did clearly win that one. But the Ward Kovalev decision was a dreadful dreadful one.
Bute was overrated and does nothing for him. Froch exposed him and Bute should've entered the super 6. He was not risk adversed he fought in the super 6 and he moved up to fight kovalev who was seen as a killer ffs.
