Of course you do. You really believed with all of your heart that kovalev was going to destroy ward then when that didn't happen you had to try and justify why it didn't just to cope.
Here's Dre booking his place in the Olympic final. Literally spent half the fight holding like an octopus, doing everything in his power to prevent his opponent from landing scoring shots and he still only sneaked it by 2 pts. I've never seen any fighter spend half a fight holding amateur or pro. He should've been DQ'd, let alone had multiple points deducted which he categorically should've and everyone who watched that knows it too This content is protected Not only was he the dirtiest fighter of his generation but he couldn't even, to quote him, ''own it'' And he lied through his fake teeth as per usual and bawled like a baby when he was given a tiny taste of his own medicine ''I'm not a dirty fighter. You can check any of my 20 fights I've never done that intentionally'' Jim Grey: ''Are you a dirty fighter?'' Andre Ward: ''Absolutely not!'' How can a self-confessed devout Christian, someone whose whole act is based around being a servant to god, lie so freely like that? ''I'm glad that I can win ugly sometimes (ROFL), because at the end of the day it's just about winning, right? ''I'm just saying, man, every cut I got is a headbutt or an elbow. Every single one. ''But that's why there's a third man in the ring (ROFL)'' ''All these are either blatant headbutts or elbows, literally blatant. Not one of these was from a punch'' "We expected this kind of fight with Bika," Ward said. "Every laceration I have was literally [from] a headbutt or an elbow. I clearly remember each one of them. That's what you get when you fight a guy like Sakio." ---Andre Ward after the Bika fight ''At the end of the day, boxing is already a tough enough business to not have to put up with illegal blows. ''I don't mind the occasional foul if it's an accident but the intentional stuff I just can't put up with it'' --Andre Ward Listen to him here. No ****, Sherlock. When you categorically refuse to travel and fight on a more level playing field or one which isn't, as per usual, stacked heavily in your favour, and you have home advantage for every single one of your fights against world class opposition and home refs for every single one of your pro fights whether it be hometown, home state, or home city (23 from Cali) and an absolutely scandalous amount of home judges of course it's far far easier to get away with cheating and all the illegal tactics your style hinges completely on This content is protected And then when you refuse to allow even the appointment of one neutral judge for the biggest fight of your career after having a home ref and full set of home judges for the first fight to rob your opponent of all his belts he had to work so hard for which they ever so predictably did it's completely indefensible I've never seen another fighter refuse the appointment of a neutral judge, especially after having home advantage and a full set of home officials for the first fight and their judges robbed their opponent blind, except this ''devout Christian'' that is Dre brought five weapons into the ring as opposed to the legal two and he categorically refused to ever fight on his opponent's battlefield, which to quote him again is ''doing it the hard way,'' insisting on always having home advantage, the deck stacked heavily in his favour and expecting everyone to play by a set of rules he would never dare play by once himself. Take away his home advantage, home refs and judges, and his excessive use of illegal tactics and he wouldn't have achieved half of what he did and he would've been much easier to beat. Miranda in Oakland Kessler in Oakland Allan Green in Oakland Sakio Bika in Oakland Abraham in California (Ward's home state) Froch in Atlantic city (Ward's home country) Dawson in Oakland Rodriguez in California Paul Smith in Oakland Sullivan Barrera in Oakland Brand in Oakland And Kovalev x 2 in the US too to complete his 100% record of always having home advantage and the deck stacked heavily in his favour against world class opposition. Would he have fought Kovalev in Russia? Not a chance in hell What about in Russia with a Russian ref? Or in Russia with a Russian ref and a Russian judge? Or in Russia with a Russian ref and two Russian judges? Or in Russia with a Russian ref and three Russian judges? You can replace Kovalev with Beterbiev or Stevenson the later of whom he flat-out ducked if you want and Russia with Canada with Canadian officials and the answer to all will still be never in a million years When Kovalev fought Dre in the US all the officials, for both fights, were from the US When Loma fought GRJ and Teo in the US all the officials were from the US When Kambosos fought Teo in the US all the officials were from the US When Castano fought Jermello in the US all the judges were from the US, for both fights When Korobov fought Jermallo in the US all the officials were from the US I could keep going on and on But when Haney fought Kambosos in Australia all of a sudden it was the officials have got to come from neutral countries. It'll be really unfair if they have ones from Australia. How can that even be allowed?
Dre fans reading that, and trust me I have so much more I could post, will be like Grrrr.. we know he's right but we will never admit it in a million years and we'll either have to fire back with the adhominomnoms or some false equivalence
Do you guys just ignore Ward won via a low blow?? I mean, it's there on tape clear as day. You can't just pretend that never happened because you like Ward.
That doesn't matter when you win with a low blow. Too many of you guys seem to act like it's 'OK', or that the win was 100% legit.
That was at the end right before the stoppage. Before that kovalev was getting beat up. The win was 100% legit.
You are correct. Both the first two GGG-Golovkin fights were close, but Kovalev-Ward was a clear win by Kovalev. Yes. They don't care about what's fair, they just want their fighters to win, even by illegal tactics.
jesus christs....that doesn't matter dude. You can't win a fight w/ illegal low blows FFS. How are you even arguing that?? It;s OK to win with low blows if you like the guy?? Or it's OK to win with low blows if you are up on the cards?? WTF!?!?!?
Pretty much. I don't understand that train of thought. I want my guy to win fairly! Anything less then a fair and controversy-free win is a travesty to the sport.
Canelo's career was/is and will always be the "more significant" career. If you wanna call that greater, so be it.
