Duran was a lady's man. He had to beat back the throngs of horny women. Floyd beat on baby mommas. Duran got a crazy amount of punani. Floyd got beards. How is this relevant? It ain't. Just facts.
Duran by far but I voted Floyd. Why? Because that's what I do This content is protected This content is protected
Duran has those crazy ups and downs. He had a great comeback. He pulled off upsets and was valiant in many defeats. Floyd was the better boxer and he was the true professional. If Duran had been as dedicated as Floyd, he would have been a damn god. I don´t see why so many people have such an issue with Floyd proclaiming to be TBE. People seem to confuse skills with greatness. Floyd truly was a master of the sport. Even if he was on steroids and what not, he was obviously a highly skilled fighter.
I couldn’t mount a case against him being no1, he had everything, tenacity coupled with elite level skills, every punch in the book. He is shoulder to shoulder with the absolute best ever
i'm going to get smashed to hell over this, but i don't care. floyd retired undefeated - un-de-fea-ted - and is the first fighter to do so legitimately for a long time. almost every time he came up against a fighter who was a proven pressure fighter, he broke them down to the point that they didnt provide any 'beer and popcorn moments' against the best boxer of their era. i can't help but feel that floyd gets judged for who he is rather than his genius in the ring. i understand that a lot of people revere fighters from the past when there wasn't the lure of fighting for $$$ to compromise who they fought and when, but the truth is these past legends would've played by the same rules in the modern day. floyd is a great fighter who didn't lose to an 'obscure' fighter like a lot of past legends did, and sure he had a couple of contentious decisions, but every fighter has. any way you play it, floyd is the best fighter since roy jones, and i just don't know how anyone can see it as anything else.
Imagine Floyd moving up to 160 and fighting guys coming in at 175 on fight night in his later career like Duran did! Lmao instead he chose to fight tiny Japanese kick boxers and mma guys lacing up the gloves for their first bout! Also, any boxing fan knows Floyd retired with an 0 but lost fights to Castillo and Maidana! Duran is my answer just incase that needed clarifying!
if you think this is a point of contention, then you don't understand why weight classes exist to begin with.
Crazy ups and downs? Lol. You general forum idiots are hilarious. Duran was 72-1 when he fought Leonard. He lost one damn fight over the course of a decade - twice avenged. He never came close to losing a lightweight title fight, which is more than can be said for Floyd (lost the first Castillo fight). Yeaaaa, he was real inconsistent...
