Duran wasn't inconsistent. If you know Duran, you know this. Duran lost twice while close to his prime. He has decisive wins over both men, and legitimate reasons for both losses. After apexing by beating the P4P #2 while moving up 10lbs in a 10m super fight, boxing went from Duran's passion to his job. That's when he started not giving a ****, showing up out of shape, quitting (in two cases), and overall just coming in for a paycheck. But he still had it and showed countless times just how good he was technically when all of his physical attributes had left. Everyone fawns over Mayweather's skillset, defence and foot-work, and it is great. I'm not for one second saying it's not, but Mayweather never impressed me like old Duran did. For a lightweight to jump up to middleweight, go 15 with Hagler, beat Barkley, show immense skills vs Paz, Castro & Moore and overall just show IMO, the best boxing brain and set of skills evet. It's just insane. Then obviously the mid 70s LW verison has those skills and all the physical talents.
Duran is greater, I think. History wise. I would put my money on mayweather in a fantasy fight, though. I dont see durán winning to mayweather.
That's just how I roll I can change my vote at anytime if any of the Duran fans want to make it worth my while
I can't actually see who voted for who but I just changed my vote to Duran and then changed it back to Floyd again after doing so
durán would probably win to a young floyd (castillo's). NEVER to a more experienced floyd. Chávez? maidana? wft. I never saw maidana or jesús chavez with chances to win to mayweather. One hit, and a lot of perssure, that's all maidana had. Maidana is haters' wishfull thinking. Only chance durán has is to fight a young mayweahter, still a warrior. The old one, would make durán want to fight leonard II again. That's the level of frustration that durán would get fighting an experienced floyd, with better footwork than leonard (imho) and with endless stamina (not like leonard) because of movement economy (not like leonard). I would never put my money on durán on this fight. And durán is one of my favourite fighters ever. EDIT: to repeat that history wise I would pick durán. Floyd is not history already, he cannot compete with durán in terms of greatness. We need to let time pass... and then... look back and decide.
