Very one-sided arguments coming out here. Yes, Duran fought anyone and no nonsense with catch weights and what not, but just imagine the ruckus if Floyd had quit like Duran did in New Orleans or lost to a guy like Kirkland Laing in his early 30's. In his prime, Duran had the greater achievements, yes, but the No Mas thing swings it in Floyd's favour imo.
Yeah, it doesn’t. If that’s a criteria, then so is Floyd claiming there’s no money in fighting prime fighters in the first place and waiting for them to either get old or otherwise vulnerable. All this aside, Duran takes this all day long.
Quitting like that in a title fight, and of that magnitude, trumps anything I've ever seen in boxing. And ffs, don't feed me that nonsense that he waited DLH and Mosley out. When should they have fought do you mean?
I fail to see what relevance that has. None of them fought remotely like Mayweather. Castillo is similar to Duran in style.
Both fighters were Multiple Weight Classes World Champions and both fighters were ATG and both fighters fought against many World Champions during their eras. But Floyd was undefeated until he retired while Duran was not. Duran got knocked out by Hearns in round 2 while Mayweather was never even got knocked down in any fight. Is this enough explanation? mate
