People whose entire boxing knowledge comes from Boxrec need to understand how incomplete that site is when it comes to older fighters and especially older, non-American fighters. The live telecast of Chang v. Chitalada I clearly says Chitalada had 17 or 18 fights. I will take live telecast over Boxrec whenever it comes to accuracy.

Also, even if Chitalada had 4 fights, he was already a finished product, given his long career as an elite Muay Thai fighter. Many Muay Thai fighters have become world class fighters and even world champions overnight after converting to boxing.

Edit: Sorry for multiple typos and grammatical errors. English is not my first language, and I make these type of errors a lot when I read/write too quickly.

Team Western hemisphere perhaps; he's never met a Latin American fighter who couldn't pulverize an Asian fighter either.

He's actually the complete opposite. He loves Eastern European fighters more than anyone on here. It's actually a bit of a running joke.

I like a lot of 'em too, but no-one gets his weird Chang agenda. And only one guys agrees with him, and. I think even that was just to spite Fleaman.

Should introduce him to Éder Jofre and tell him about Harada.

I already schooled him on that too. :p

Is that right? I recall him bashing other Asian fighters, too, though.

As for Fleaman, he can be arrogant and self-righteous indeed; but he is also one of the most knowledgeable posters here - and he may know more about Asian boxing than any non-Asian human being I know! ;)

Well, I've heard a lot of Jofre fans say that 1) Jofre was robbed, at least in the return match; and 2) Jofre was in heavy decline. I do think that the Jofre of 3-4 years before the first Harada bout ekes out a decision though.

How about checking Boxrec's Star Rating. Chang only won in two 4-star fights
Yuh only has one 4-star win
El Finito has two 4-star wins
    Zapata have four 4-star wins
    Chiquita beats four 4-star fighters
    Carbajal beats four 4-star fighters
Roman Gonzales beat one 5-star fighter in his 105 and 108 career

So resume wise, Chang is not a stand-out against other 108 greats. He must really be good on film to warrant P4P ATG status. But for me, his lost to Chiquita hurts. That would have been his breakthrough win.

GGG meanwhile have five 4-star wins and eight 5-star wins (Canelo, Derevyanchenko, Jacobs, Brook, Lemieux, Monroe, Murray and Stevens

I haven't really interacted with you, but your posts in this thread just seem needlessly confrontational.

Are you upset with how he is rated?
Do you think others in his division should be rated higher?
Or are you just upset because you think his name doesn't belong next to GGG?

I don't really understand why you feel so strongly on the matter?

I'm watching a lot of his fights today, maybe you should do the same then you could answer some of your own questions.
You might lose your hate for him when you watch how exciting his fights are.

I have no idea what Boxrec "star win" is, but let's take that as a basis, whatever that is. According to you, Zapata has 4 4-star wins, and Chang has only 2.

But how is that a reliable measure of a fighter's greatness when Chang was clearly better? Chang destroyed Zapata in their 2nd fight, and should have won their first fight - even though he couldn't train due to a foot injury and the fight should've been postponed. So Chang destroyed Zapata when he was at his best and was robbed when he was at his worst.

As for looking good on film, he's awesome when he is in top form - which admittedly wasn't always the case even when he was in his prime. Check Zapata II, Torres I, Chitalada I. These were among the best junior flyweights/flyweights of the time, and Chang dominates them in different ways. Against Zapata, he shows he can quickly close and hunt down a defensive maestro; against Torres, he shows he can go in-and-out and land at will and not get caught against perhaps the most dangerous puncher ever at the weight; against Chitalada, he shows he can out-jab and win the distance contest against a taller guy who had one of the better jabs of the decade. Chang in an interview said he had "no style," because his style was "to adapt" to his given opponent. To do that, he needed a multiplicity of skill sets. Technically and tool-wise, his only demerit was the lack of a big punch - but that's really not a signature trait of fighters at the weight anyways.

    Cmon bro.

In what world are Lemieux, Monroe, Murray or Stevens 5 star fighters?

Canelo was a career WW as was Brook, these are his good wins.

I like GGG but jesus christ you fanboys love to twist things.

5 star means the opponent is Top 100 P4P
    4 star means Top 300

3 star is essentially a journeyman. The type of fighters coming to your own turf only to lose.
