Boxers have a different mentality than us fans. The good fighters love to fight, and are not scared. Nervous is what many say before a fight. Second, I just found out Az is ass.
Close but I say Hopkins. His longevity wins this. His losses to Taylor whilst he was rated #1 and the fact that many of his big wins still came after that loss (meaning he wasn't that past his prime) hurts him though. That said, he's defied the odds so many times, set records that he's gotta be higher. Floyd>bhop>morales
I don't want to see Morales-Raheem or Barerra-Pacquiao 2 type fights. I want to see guys think, brawl, box, and go toe to toe. I don't want to see toe to toe action every time out. Those fighters don't last long in this sport. You have to be able to change up your game. You're tight about boxing not being about race. They started the race talk, and I finished it.
Hopkins 115 Morales 136 Doesn`t prove jack **** OTHER THAN those/youz ****in idiotic ***s that claim Hopkins is far ahead of Morales are way off the mark.... true story !
To each their own Pop`s... my personal top 5 since the `outrageously gifted` Whitaker`s prime are, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Jones jr, Morales, Barrera.... B-Hop might finish after those guys but to ME, he is not as great in boxing history. Longevity ?... yes... everything considered ? no... just my personal opinion. :good
Don't be a cretin. Anyone who saw B-Hop fight between 97 and 01 knows that as early as 03/04 Bernard was starting to lose his power and his stamina. If the B-Hop of the Glen Johnson/2nd Antwun Echols/Felix Trinidad fights had fought ODLH in 04, the fight wouldn't have gone 5 rounds. From 03/04 onwards, Bernard has been in very obvious physical decline, as proven by his inability to maintain any sort of pace vs opponents who set a high tempo (eg Taylor, Calzaghe) set against his ability to still perform well against opponents who allow Hop to fight at his own pace (eg Tarver, Pascal). How anyone can not see this blindingly obvious truth says to me either they are an imbecile, or they haven't seen b-hop fight at his very best.
My five are: Pacquiao Jones Jr Hopkins Mayweather Jr De La Hoya Best of the rest: Morales, Barrera, Lennox Lewis, James Toney IMO, Hopkins has longevity over Morales, dominance in his prime, has an equal quality of resume, greater career achievements/accomplishments (as i really do not rate Morales's lww title win), and at his peak (1997-2002ish) Bernard was a more complete, more skilled, just all-round better technician and better fighter than EM. JMHO.
Hopkins has accomplished more and at his peak was just a far better fighter. Morales was great, but I don't have him anywhere near Hopkins on my all time list.
Morales has great wins against 2 prime ATGS, Hopkins has None, when he tired got his ass whoop against a prime atg in RJJ. :deal :yep
most people are dumb and think hopkins has always been a 40+ year old fighter. they have no idea where is 32 ko's came from, they just know of the 32, 2 came against "smaller fighters." of course those smaller ones were younger, faster, and future hall of famers, one who held a belt at that weight class, but no one cares about that.atsch
Fair enough, I respect your opinion on B-Hop (who IS a great fighter, I`ve never denied that) & I appreciate your reasoning BUT Morales & Barrera are better than Delahoya... EVERYTHING considered, c`mon ?... lets stop the jokes now & get to serious discussion..... Ps. the `dominance in his prime` part actually favours Morales IMO because he always fought in tougher divisions (3 in all, 122, 126, 130) while B-Hop stayed at the much weaker 160..... Hopkins lost once in the middle of his prime, a clear-cut UD to the wonderful - but still improving - Roy Jones.... Morales only lost to Barrera & we both saw that `loss` Popkin`s... your a knowledgeable poster, Barrera showed zero superiority over Morales thru 3 whole fights.... I`m getting carried away again but my belief is that Morales is greater than Hopkins & even tho I do respect your opinion & it`s very unlikely I can make you change your mind it is what it is. Ps. Penn v Diaz ???? shame its not 5 rds but heavenly none the less lol.... if only boxing would take note :verysad :good
This is my only username. I know many posters think Im Aztecas, but Im not. In case you dont know, there are millions of Aztecas in N. America, and have been for well over 1,000 years. BUt since your wondering, I sent a wi-fi message to Aztecas from my Aztec Pyramid to his Aztec Pyramid (many people dont know this, but the very first wireless transmitter was in Mexico, when the Mayas, and Aztecs would send wi-fi signals from pyramid to pyramid). (the the Euros, and US stole and copied our ideas/inventions, which is why you now have phones, internet, etc.). This content is protected Aztecas told me that since he has about 1995 posts, and he's approaching his 2012 th post, he will stop at the 2012 post, in observance of the Maya calendar that ends in 2012.:yikes
