2 former lineal southpaw champions. Who do you rank as the overall greater fighter?

Is this thread a joke? Calzaghe achieved far more as a professional.

I admire Winky an awful lot but Calzaghe gets this one.

Wow, you think the gulf between the two is so far apart? Of course Calzaghe has the more impressive record, but I feel Wright took a lot more risks an chances throughout his career, an I feel a lot of Calzaghe's record got padded by sitting on that WBO title an fighting no hopers or unworthy challenges.

Gotta go with Joe, but Winky getting his breakout win over Sugar Shane was one of my happiest moments in boxing. Nothing against Shane, but Winky had been toiling in obscurity for so long that seeing it pay off was nothing less than magical.

Both were fairly similar: talented, clever southpaws who only came to be properly appreciated at the tail end of things. Also, both had a tendancy to fight to the level of their competition and both turned in some pretty ordinary performances against lesser challengers: Joe against guys lke Kabery Salem/Sakio Bika and Winky against Angel Hernandez.

Winky's win over a then highly regarded JC Candelo was one of my favorite performances of his.

Reid is his 7th or 8th best win, but thanks for playing.

Winky has slightly better wins but also more losses. I would rank Calzaghe higher.

Winky's not muscular dystrophy talent David Starie ... Calz would struggle mightily for twelve rounds.

Consistent that so many regulars on the "Classic" have tens of thousands of hours spent talking about athletes but negligible actual familiarity with anything beyond clicking their mouse. It is the Classic's nearly hom_geneous demographic .. horrible for evaluating athletes. Consistently absurd opinions from the same dozen or so.

    I don't stutter, dummy.

Should I end each statement with a qualifier "but, I give the insecure Beavis a plus two over all the rest? If you believe your 5'10ish Irish 10.4 100m best - who prefers finishing sixth at the long jump - puts you levels above the rest of the ho_ogeneous posters with 14,000 posts then be content. If my statement excludes you keep your yapper at bay. Though we both know it kind of doesn't huh?

I don't know the rest of these jokers and don't presume who they might be. You're painting with an awful broad brush. It's a very unsteady pedestal upon which to base whatever your argument is for Wright being greater over Calzaghe... and do you care to be completely explicit in this regard? This board is to ****genous is the reason?

And I am not Irish and only placed 6th once so far as I can remember in a stacked field with one Olympian and one future NFL pro bowler but thanks for the kudos!
