I was always in Loma's camp. But Loma couldn't overcome a big lightweight, Usyk gave up a lot more size and weight tonight and did it.
I always thought Loma was greater until tonight and Usyk changed my mind tonight. Just seems more rugged and durable than Loma and will get down and dirty if he needs to. His chin is also iron. Has Usyk ever been dropped in his career?
I think if Loma had something like the WBSS it would've helped his resume a lot. He fought Gary Russel Jr. in his 3rd fight, he's wanted top guys since day 1. Loma's career stalled out a bit, but I think he can still achieve resume greatness. The way he performed in his last fight gave a convincing argument toward the shoulder injury in the Lopez fight. Loma will likely be one of those fighters whose talent and legend overshadows his resume.
