Only the elite in Mayweather and Bivol have beaten Canelo. Loma lost to Salido, Haney and Teofimo Lopez. Says it all really and he would be separated from his senses if he fights Tank or Shakur.
Most fighters and their handlers are not willing to take that kind of risk. Look at what happened with Lu Bin when he fought Canizales in his 2nd pro fight. It also bears mentioning that Loma was totally screwed in that fight as well. He definitely does not have blatant corruption and favoritism in his favor like Clenelo does.
Clenelo has a better resume albeit he's had 63 fights compared to Loma's 20 but Loma has fought 12 world champions in 20 fights to Clenelo's 20 or it might be 21 I'm not sure in 63 and obviously Clenelo has the judges in his pocket and Loma would 100% be undefeated if he had judges like Clenelo's in his pocket. He should only have 1 loss as it is not 3 and Clenelo would have a lot more than he does if he had Loma's judges And Clenelo like so many other multiple weight champs jacked himself with PEDs to help him bridge the gap fighting at higher weights. Imagine how much better Loma would be if he was allowed that luxury Loma is the better more skilled fighter for sure and he would take a same size version of Clenelo to slick school. That being said, Clenelo is a great fighter with a great resume
Canelo has the better resume by quite some distance, but if Canelo hadn't got the benefit of the doubt in every controversial decision then it would be more debatable. Lomachenko got shafted in 2 of his losses vs Salido with 100 low blows, and Salido cheating coming into the fight as Welterweight. And most people think Lomachenko was very unlucky not to win vs Haney. Even the Lopez fight he barely lost and had that been Canelo in that situation, he would've 100 percent got the benefit of the doubt. Put it this way if Lomachenko had Canelo's favouring with judges he would be undefeated right now.
Even if Loma won all his fights, he'd still have less than 1/3 the amount of fights that Canelo had. Canelo has also faced far better competition. Even if Canelo had lost one of the decisions to GGG, and lost the Lara fight lets say, and had 4 losses now instead of 2, it wouldn't change his standing in the sport much. He'd still be well ahead of Loma. Look at all the losses that Pacquiao had, would you say Loma is more accomplished that Pacquiao? The same problem exists, Loma has only has 20 pro fights. You say Loma only "barely" lost against Lopez but many people disagree with that and saw that as very one-sided. He did very little in the first half of the fight, and was injured. I don't get how people seriously are trying to argue that he barely lost against Lopez when he lost clearly. This screams bias when you take a fight that was one-sided and suggest that it was close. This indicates that you're going out of your way to give any even remotely close round to the fighter you like.
It wasn't one sided a majority of the people had Lomachenko winning 4 or 5 rounds vs Lopez, a majority of the people also had Canelo only winning 4 or 5 rounds vs Golovkin in their 1st fight yet he still got a draw. Hence my point if Lomachenko had the same favouring of the judges that Canelo had then Lomachenko would be undefeated.
Canelo has established himself as one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all time, he's actually part of history. Loma, despite having achieved milestones is not someone I'm gonna think of when I think about the greatest FWs or LWs of all time. I like Loma a lot, but this poll should be nowhere near as close as it is.
Yeah, imagine how Adylide Byrde would have scored the Lopez vs Loma fight had Loma had the same clout as Canelo? 118- 109 for Loma. Lol.
